So far, so good...

I just enrolled my puppy with Embrace, and have submitted a Wellness Claim. The claim was processed promptly and I am pleased with the service and customer service, as well.

Terrible online support

It's great having pet insurance but the support that PetFirst supplies online is awful. Since we've gotten insurance through them their claim support email has been down for days and every time I sent something through I get an error. I've sent all required documents to their claim email and they are showing as "Missing". So I sent the missing information to the claim email and am now getting another error message. I think that you should be able to upload any documents to the client account. Not a great web app at all.

Pet Insurance that cares

Within the past year my Molly has had a severe ACL tear and just recently a twisted stomach, requiring emergency GVT w/ resection surgery. Within less than 3 hrs of submitting her bills for surgery and aftercare, I received a phone call from ASPCA. The customer service lady wanted to know how Molly was and is there anything they could do. What human insurance company would do that? Molly is almost back to normal. Thank you ASPCA, for caring. I can't believe that basic services like hookworm treatment and a general wellness exam for a rescued dog aren't covered.

My Golden Retriever Approves!

I have had my Golden Retriever insured through HealthyPaws for 2 years, but thankfully, I have not had to make a claim. Recently, Buddy had to have some surgery done. It was nice knowing HealthyPaws was there. They claim process was very quick. They were very clear on what was needed, and their communication and updates were great. Not only did they email me, but the HealthyPaws Iphone app alerted me every time there was an update. They were very courteous, and even sent an email to see how he was recovering. They love animals, and it shows. They honored their coverage promises, and didn't try to make excuses to deny coverage. HealthyPaws lives up to their promises. It's great to have a company like this by your side.

Look elsewhere for reliable pet insurance

My 1.5yr old Aussie had a lump form on her throat due to ingesting something that cut her. Antibiotics didn't work to clear the infection so we opted for surgery. I claimed all of this only to get denied because this particular issue was, to them, considered a "skin system" problem which my plan didn't cover... my plan did cover "digestion" FYI. I had to jump through hoops, resubmit all of my paperwork, biopsy results, etc AND have my vet write a letter in my defense. I did get the claim approved in the end but I only got back less than half of what I spent in medical bills. I called in to cancel after this was settled and they informed me that they changed all their plans because they were running into too many issues like mine... and convinced me to drop down to a different plan instead. Since then, rates got jacked up (though mine less than others I know) and I've been attempting to call and cancel DAILY now for about two weeks and I can't get through to a human being. I'm actually on hold again now as I write this... possibly because their lines are tied up by others trying to cancel.

Accident Insurance Good Deal

I have four dogs covered by accident insurance. Over the years one dog has been bitten by a javelina, cut herself on a fence, and swallowed a sponge. Without the insurance I would have been out of pocket a significant amount!

Awesome customer service!

Embrace makes it easy to file a claim and the process is efficient. So far, I've only used the wellness benefit and it has been a positive experience.
