Agent (Kat) was really helpful and clarified my concerns. My fur baby had a major leg surgery and his surgery cost was more than $7k. Considering end of the year and holidays, it was an unexpected financial stress. Trupanion happily pitched in and claim was approved within a day. It was pleasantly surprising and I was delighted on my decision to setup an insurancy policy for my baby with Trupanion.

Claims rejected despite vet appeal
If I could, I would rate negative. Trupanion was great for my first insured pet. Since then I’ve had two more- and apparently trupanion trusts the claims reviewers more than a veterinarian. My veterinarian has written an appeal letter to explain how a puppy’s bloodwork cannot be measured on an adult scale- since they are growing and building immunity. Trupanion disregarded my veterinarian‘a assessment and has rejected every claim since. I will be leaving this company, despite my positive experience with my first pet. Something has changed with this company over the last six years. Business and bottom line now trumps pet care and science.
