Healthy Paws is the BEST

I am so glad to have Healthy Paws pet insurance! It was the best decision I made when our pup Brody joined our family 9 years ago. Brody developed a chronic condition last year and having the insurance coverage is a blessing! It takes the financial stress of the situation away. They have a really simple to use app that we use for claims and each claim only takes a few seconds to submit. I always recommend Healthy Paws to my friends when they bring home a new pup!

Purchasing Healthy Paws Pet Insurance…

Purchasing Healthy Paws Pet Insurance for my little Iris was one of the best pet-parent decisions I have made. I have had dogs my entire adult life, and I knew when I got Iris that I wanted to make sure that she would get all the care she needed if injury or illness occurred. I did a little research and settled on Healthy Paws, which has turned out to be a great decision. Recently Iris injured her knee and needed major reconstructive surgery. I had not yet filed a claim with Healthy Paws in the 3+ years that we've had the policy so I was nervous how it would go (having had to fight human health insurers in the past). To my surprise and delight, the claim filing process was easy and streamlined, all online. I received follow-up emails from Healthy Paws folks shortly after filing, and my claims have all been filled without hassle within a few days of being complete. They even wrote me a personal note to check in on Iris after her surgery. To pet owners on the fence about insurance: do it. It is affordable, and even if it means you are just paying for your pet's healthcare in monthly installments (as premiums) overtime, it still makes it worth it to ease the burden of decision when the bad news comes that illness or injury requires expensive treatment. Healthy Paws is my only experience with pet insurance, and I will unequivocally and enthusiastically recommend them to others, and will continue to use them for Iris and any other pet living in my household.

Trupanion has been there for me with…

Trupanion has been there for me with each and everyone of my dogs. Through IBD diagnosis and bone cancer diagnosis and adrenal cancer diagnosis. I honestly don’t know what I would have done without them. My bills were in the 10s of thousands and they paid me before my credit card bills even arrived. Awesome people too

Not happy about how the coverage of my dog changed as I had not made any claims. Someone supposedly made claims for my dog before I was even involved with your firm. Do not feel comfortable that your firm will back up my claims, if any. Manny Miyar

Last month my dog Ellie needed to be hospitalized

Last month my dog Ellie got severely sick and needed to be hospitalized for a week. She needed round the clock care. The vet that we have was really great, but with all the medications, the tests and the imaging that Ellie needed the bill was getting expensive. We've had Healthy Paws for Ellie since we adopted her as a puppy, we called them and inquired about their direct pay option and explained the situation. They were super helpful and very sympathetic to our situation. They made it very easy. They were able to pay the vet directly saving us from having to make the impossible decision of which test or imaging we could afford, or if we should just treat the symptoms and hope for the best. Thanks to the insurance's help we were able to afford all of the recommended tests and imaging and they were able to properly diagnose and treat Ellie. She's now back to her old energetic and happy self and you would never know how sick she was or that she had to stay in the hospital for a week.

Thank goodness for direct pay

My dog Ellie got really sick last month, and needed to be hospitalized for a week. She needed round the clock care. Our vet is great and was doing what they could to help, but the vet bill was getting pretty expensive, so we called Healthy Paws and asked about their direct pay option. They were so helpful on the phone and made it really easy for us. Thanks to them all we had to worry about was making Ellie better. Because the insurance was able to pay the vet directly the vet could run all the important tests and imagings to properly diagnose Ellie instead of worrying about keeping the cost down which meant just treating the symptoms and hoping for the best. Ellie is back to her old energetic happy self, and you wouldn't ever guess that she needed to be hospitalized for a week.

If I could give it zero stars I would…

If I could give it zero stars I would have. I rescued a poodle three months ago and brought to a vet the next day. He did a basic exam and said she needed some teeth removed and he wanted to test a flap of skin so we booked an appointment for a later date and I bought the spot $4000 pet insurance. She had not been diagnosed with anything at this point. $2500 later she had 17 teeth removed and I turned in the paperwork. Weeks and weeks and weeks went by. The results came back from the flap and it was cancer. Today I was informed that my initial claim was completed. Denied due to pre existing condition. So is the cancer surgery. What a scam this is. I am reporting to BBB. Pet owners beware!
