Trupanion pets lead longer happier lives.1 Pets insured with Trupanion lived longer than pets without Trupanion because pet parents didn’t have to worry about the cost of the care their pet needed. Depending on the plan Trupanion covers up to 90% of eligible expenses, has unlimited payouts-always, and can pay your vet bill, within seconds, at time of checkout, so all you pay is your portion (anything not covered by Trupanion). They have transformed the way pet insurance handles claims by eliminating the reimbursement process.

Well Worth The Cost
Two years ago, my uninsured cat sustained some internal injuries while playing outside and the resulting operation cost me $5000. Soon after, I got Trupanion insurance and once again the unexpected happened and my cat started urinating blood for a sustained period of time. The resulting vet costs, so far $600, have been nearly completely covered thanks to my insurance. My cat is able to have access to the best medical care available without me stressing during this difficult economic time. There is no limit on the cost of an individual claim, something few other insurance companies can match. Also, I pay very little as I have no deductible and only a 10% coinsurance all at $22/month. Trupanion is by far the best pet insurance company out there and I highly recommend them. Their staff is friendly and clearly devoted towards pets and their process time is less than 1 week. Given the skyrocketing costs of healthcare, this is a no-brainer.

Not very happy, with our Ins.
We have had Trupanion Dog pet insurance, for about one year. As stated above we are not happy, and we are considering changing Ins. company's. We have filed about six clams and they have only paid for two. They state that our dog had a preexisting ear infection, that is true but it was almost nine months ago. I ask them if they where going to do this for ever, after all it was a long time ago, and they stated if it was preexisting yes. So be very care full if your animal has a preexisting problem.

Outstanding Service !!!!
My 3 year old Bulldog Major was hit by a car, He held up pretty good but still was in complete shock and needed urgent Vet care. He was taken to the emergency vet hospital and had a full exam with xrays and then had to stay over night for observation.
I have both my dogs covered under Trupanion and have had to made 3 claims in the past 3 years totally around $6000. All I can say is thank god for Trupanion being there. My premiums have never went up due to my claims and the processing time is AMAZING!!! 3 days and my claim is paid. I really can't say anything bad about Trupanion whatsoever. 5 Stars !!!

I recommend Trupanion to every pet owner I know
A few months ago we adopted brother and sister twin kittens. Being a new pet owner I was new to the idea of pet insurance. I was offered a free 30 day trial of Trupanion and decided to give it a try. Not even two weeks later, I came home to find one of my cats, Roku, extremely sick. He had vomited and barely had enough energy to lift his head from where he was lying. Our vet recommended bringing him into the clinic immediately. After being examined, Roku’s blood pressure was dangerously low and the vet was concerned. To complicate matters it was Friday and the vet clinic was closed for the weekend. At my vet’s recommendation I took Roku to an emergency clinic where they had to perform emergency surgery for a possible blocked intestine. They had strong suspicions that he might have swallowed a foreign object or that he had contracted FIP (feline intestinal paracytosis) which is a deadly disease in cats. So one surgery and multiple tests later, the clinic bill had skyrocketed to over $4000. Not exactly the kind of money you keep lying around. I was freaked out by the bill but knew that I had the Trupanion trial. After submitting my claim, I was reimbursed for 90% of the entire bill, no questions asked. I had the check in my hands before the charge was even printed on my credit card statement. All of this and I hadn’t even made my first monthly payment to Trupanion.
Roku completely recovered from his surgery and is totally healthy today. Who knows how things would have gone

Monthly cost varies due to multiple factors including: species, breed, age at enrollment, gender, and postal code.
Coverage
One simple plan covers new injuries and illnesses, hereditary, congenital, and chronic conditions—once the deductible is met, Trupanion pays 90% of the remaining invoice.

Payout Limits
Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.
Deductible
You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget.
Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.
Age Limits
All pets under 14 years old can enroll.
Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.
Waiting Period
Accidents: 5 days
Illnesses: 30 days
Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.
Exclusions
Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries. That means we don’t cover “predictable” care costs that you can plan ahead for, like:
Examination fees
Wellness and preventive care
Elective, or cosmetic procedures
Sales tax, where applicable
