Gives me peace of mind

When our puppy, Trixie, a beagle-bulldog mix, started vomiting each morning and intermittently throughout the day, we worried that she might have eaten something poisonous. Our vet was able to rule that out with a blood test, but she feared a blockage -- Trixie has a history of "dietary indiscretions," (her beagle half just loves to chew on twigs and leaves). An X-ray was inconclusive because our dog had already lost so much weight, so we were referred to an animal hospital for an ultrasound. When that showed no mass of leaves or stuffing from a toy, the doctors were able to give her medicine to calm her stomach and also subcutaneous liquids to keep her hydrated. It took a week of medicine and a bland food diet, but Trixie recovered and started to put weight back on. The bills totalled $1400 but Trupanion reimbursed us for nearly $900. It was a huge comfort to have pet health insurance when the puppy that we've come to love was facing an unknown illness.

No need to worry

I haven't needed to use Trupanion's services as of yet for any of my three pets (two dogs and one cat), but having the service there lets me be less concerned about what could be and lets me concentrate more on having a wonderful time with my buddies. It is good to know that I will have the help should anything happen to any of them.

Customer Service was very prompt to respond.

I highly recommend Trupanion to everyone I know. I have yet to file a claim on my 8 month old boxer. I did have an issue that could not be dealt with via the website. I dropped them an email and before I new it a service emailed back that everything was taken care of. Could not have been any easier. ref:00D8K

Great service, great rates and so HELPFUL

What can I say? Since becoming a cat owner by accident, falling in love with my cat only to have to put him down 2 years later was a heartbreak. It was on that sad day that my vet said "get insurance, get this insurance" and I made the call when I got my next cat, and my next cat. Since then I have been so impressed with the service quality and turn around times to claims. I have recommended your company to everyone I know who has a pet and I know I would never be without it again. Coverage

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries.
