Peace of mind at a reasonable price

Trupanion gives all pet owners the peace of mind that we all deserve. They allow our pets to live a full and comfortable life at a reasonable cost. Since my enrollment with Trupanion, my dogs suffered several health issues that surmounted to large vet bills. I know of many cases that pet owners opted to put their pet to sleep because of the overwhelming cost of vet fees—this is unfortunate, but understandable. Luckily, with Trupanion, we never hesitated to seek the best care our dogs deserve. Thank you Trupanion for making our lives that much easier.

Sensible terms, great value

After I lost my last dog to a cancer that could have been detected if I had consented a year earlier to a "full work up" for the cause of her weight loss, I never wanted to be in that position again. When I adopted my new dog, Leo, I researched plans and chose Trupanion because it was both afordable and would protect me against catastrophic expenses. I'm on a fixed income, and I have to budget carefully for Leo. While I believe in preventive care, I would end up paying at least as much in higher premiums for preventive care as I would spend paying directly for preventive care, so I am glad the policy doesn't include it. Just two months after insuring Leo, I took him to the vet for chewing his feet and not letting me touch one foot. He ended up having a potentially cancerous growth on the foot that he wouldn't let me touch. I consented to a $930 surgerical removal and pathology work up because I knew I had coverage--otherwise I would not have been able to afford it. I was surprised that the visit that found the growth wasn't covered, but I reviewed my policy and it does not cover vet exam charges. Because it reason for the visit was "chewing feet," not "chewing sore foot," the alergy pills and candida test were counted as a separate incident, with a separate deductible, from the growth Also, since Leo was anesthetized already, I took my vet up on an offer to clean his teeth. Unbelievably caring

We got a free 30-day policy with Trupanion from our vet's office when we bought a package of puppy shots. The day after our free policy expired, our puppy broke his femur and needed surgery. I called Trupanion and explained the situation, and they reactivated my policy (and backdated it) so that the surgery would be covered. The representative that I spoke to on the phone was so caring and sweet while I was sitting there bawling my eyes out. I can't even imagine a human insurance company being half so wonderful. We will always carry a pet policy with Trupanion after the amazing way that we were treated in our time of need.

AMAZING!!!!

My cat had unexpected surgery yesterday. My vet ( Dr. Sidhu @ Norgate Pet Hospital ) was kind enough to fax my claim form to Trupanion last night and I just received an email that my claim has been processed and the cheque will be sent to me tomorrow. OMG talk about speedy service!! Thanks Trupanion.

Amazing Service

I signed up my dog last fall when she was a puppy. I initially chose Trupanion because they were the only insurance company at the time that offered a hip dysplaysia component. I was initially very impressed with the personal and quick service I receieved when phoning to ask questions, and ultimately, when signing up. Just two weeks ago, I had my pup in at the vet for an ear infection. Trupanion was great - I had my reimbursement check in less than a week. Also, I logged onto their site prior to submitting my claim and used the "chat" function to ask a question. I was so impressed at the ease and speed of getting my question answered. I am a little disappointed that Trupanion doesn't pay for exam fees, but overall, I'm extremely pleased with the service we have received.

Coverage

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries.
