CUSTOMER SERVICE PERFECTED

For many years I had my dogs policy with VPI..What a mistake!! They allow so little you get back with each claim!!I last sent in a claim for 450.00 and got back 175.00I am so glad my friend told me about Trupanion and EVERY call to their customer service for anything was 101% PERFECT!!! I just enrolled my dog Frisco and had the great fortune of having Sarrah handle the transaction.She handled the process with ease and amazing knowledge!By the way they have an A rating with the BBB and I am thrilled I found Trupanion!!!

THE BEST!

My basset hound was diagnosed with canine cystinuria, which is very rare, at the age of one. This is a genetic disease, which many insurance companies would not cover. Fortunately, we insured him through Trupanion. We have 90% coverage, and are fortunate to have had over $5000 in vet bills paid for by Trupanion. Just 3 months ago, at age 2.5, he blocked with cystine stones and needed emergent care and surgery. He was in the hospital for 4 days. I have since switched my older basset girl to Trupanion insurance. We are really relieved to know that Trupanion will take care of our two bassets when they need veterinary care.

Stubborn claims department

After a year as a Trupanion customer I have decided to drop the service. The claims department is extremely stubborn and you have to full out forms numerous times to get through the red tape. Honestly the time I spend going to and from the vet for signatures, filling out paperwork, and on the phone is not worth the money.

Our experience

It took trupanion 10 days to process our claim. This does not include my time spent on preparing the claim and getting doctors signature as well as postal time mailing the claim to trupanion and the reimbursement check mailed to us.

Pet Insurance ..soownderful!!

Charlie was so sick with GI vomiting, diaerhea and abdominal tenderness and resulted in exploratory surgery! Dr Prince saved her life by finding a section of bowel that had inverted into itself and he was able to fix it. She had post op intravenous and is on a very special diet for the next couple of months. The insurance company notified me when they received the claim (which was substantial), informed me by email when it had been processed and I had the cheque within 2 weeks of notification...AMAZING and the forms are so easy to complete. Thanks to the staff at hte clinic, they filled in everything that needed to be done and faxed it to the insurance company....sure helped relieve a lot of the stress of Charlie's illness and the bank account!!!! I wouldn't be without the insurance and this is the best company I have ever had to deal with!

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries.
