Absolutely recommend to enroll your pet with Trupanion, it is life saving experience for my cat.

My young male cat George developed FLUTD ( Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disease), and had several emergency vet visits with Urinary blockage, end up with Perineal Urethrostomy surgery done 2 days ago, the surgery is successful and George is recovering . Luckily we have Trupanion pet insurance for our 3 pets. The surgery alone cost over $5400, one of the earlier emergency visits required hospitalization for days cost over $3000, without Trupanion. I wouldn’t be able to afford all these. I am forever thankful for the help we received from Trupanion, best decision ever we made to enroll our pets with them.

Very disappointed with this company

Very disappointed with this company. I have been with Trupanion since my dog was two months old. He is now two years old, and the premiums have almost doubled without having any claims being made. When I said, I wanted to cancel - they asked for a reason. I told them I was disappointed with the significant increase in cost for no reason, and their response was “thanks have a good night” and then they promptly closed the chat. Terrible customer service. Just feel used after 2 years of being with them. But glad I cancelled now and didn’t get taken advantage for longer.

Great service for over 10+ years but coverage rates have skyrocketed this year!

The rates skyrocketed this year and we have to reconsider whether to continue our coverage. It has gone up by over $200 and thats just for 2 of our furry family. I’ve had over ten years with great service and a multitude of claims for my 2 dogs and 4 cats that are enrolled. I often tell others to get insurance for their pets until this last increase in coverage rates.

My little rex 5 year old teacup poodle…

My little rex 5 year old teacup poodle recently had a battle for his life incubated twice months in the I.c.u surgery my poor baby had his throat cut open surgery to remove a huge mass complicating things they found a heart condition the stay was so long his veins started blowing up leaving huge holes in his leg but a few months later after doctors said he more than likely wouldn't make it he is thriving doing absolutely amazing trupanion paid all bills right away directly to the hospital eliminating massive stress during an incredibly hard time would highly recommend thankyou for giving us more precious time with our beloved furbaby you guys are incredible as are the vets that saved his life god bless you all.

Not “Tru!”

“We're sending good thoughts your way. Give Simba a little extra love from us.” You must be joking! Although you do refer to section 7 of the policy here. I find it interesting how you conveniently left out the part about the “3 month” limit here. You clearly pointed out the timeframe that the vet suggests however. So I did the right thing and immediately called to ask that from the vet. I guess unfortunately for me I believed that you would be upfront with all the “fine print”. Please don’t try to explain it away and remind me about the “section 7” again now. You’d be missing the point. I do believe you purposely left out the (three months) part to avoid having to approve the claim. I’ve read some of your reviews and they aren’t very positive. It is sad that you claim you care about Pets or are in the business of “helping” pets. “Trupanion”??? There is nothing “Tru” about you, sadly.

Coverage

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries.
