I would like to put on record how delighted I am with the service I have received from Trupanion Pet Insurance. They not only reacted extremely quickly to my requests, but throughout the whole process they have kept me informed of what is the next step. Then without hesitation, I have received payment within 14 days! I wish "human" insurance companies would react this quickly to claims! 5 start service, thank you & well done!

So Far So GREAT!!!!

I was very hesitant about purchasing pet insurance. I started off by just putting money aside every month into a bank account. After a small incident that ended up costing hundreds of dollars I figured I needed to give insurance a chance. If something else major happened I would be crushed financially as the bank money I had set aside was already gone from one minor incident. I am SOOOOOOOO glad I went with my gut. Few weeks ago I had to rush my pup to the ER. It was such a relief when they brought out the estimate that she was insured. All I had to do was worry about my baby and not about the bills to make her better.

NOT HAPPY

Yes, I cancelled my policy!Trupanion went out of their way to determine my dogs issue was preexisting when it wasn't. Digging through old files and associating unrelated issues to the one I had treated. No where in her records did it say she had what she was treated for. Unfortunately, her vet didn't want to "get involved" with any type dispute, now looking for another vet.Basically I got mega screwed out of 4 grand. I will NEVER advise anyone to use Trupaion EVER!!!!!!. Until my last breath!!!!!Upon your review I doubt this will go any further, but word of mouth is a wonderful thing. You have a great day!!!!!

Great Service No Hassle!

I had an emergency w/ Zeus. Thank God I have Trupanion! From the moment the Vet's office submitted the claim, the staff at Trupanion keep you posted on the status every step of the way. Within a week my claim was processed & mailed out to me. Not only was that a quick turn around but 90% of the bill was covered. The only thing that could beat that is 100% coverage! The customer service I have received on this & previous occasions has always been friendly, informative, & professional.

Coverage

One simple plan covers new injuries and illnesses, hereditary, congenital, and chronic conditions—once the deductible is met, Trupanion pays 90% of the remaining invoice. To view a full list of inclusions and exclusions, check out our sample policy here.

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries. That means we don’t cover “predictable” care costs that you can plan ahead for, like: Examination fees Wellness and preventive care Elective, or cosmetic procedures Sales tax, where applicable Like all pet insurance providers, Trupanion does not cover pre-existing conditions.
