Claim Submission

I submitted a claim to Trupanion on Wednesday morning and by Wednesday evening they sent me an email telling me my claim had been processed and would be sending me a check shortly.

Trupanion is a Lifesaver (literally!)

I took my 10 month old cat to the vet who diagnosed her with severe life threatening anemia. She needed an immediate blood transfusion, bone marrow biopsy, tests and medications. The total bill was nearly $3,000 in the first 24 hours of care. Since then her continuing treatment costs approximately $250 to $500 a week until she recovers. I called Trupanion to find out how the process works. The rep interrupted me to ask how my cat was feeling and if I was ok. Wow! I never felt like they were about the money. They just wanted my cat to get well. I received occasional emails from the claims specialist inquiring about the status of the testing and prognosis. Very caring and helpful. I received claim payments in a matter of days. If I did not have pet insurance, we would not have been able to pursue treatment and she would not have survived that first week. It has been nearly a month and she is back to her old frisky self and on the road to recovery. Purchasing pet insurance was the best investment I ever made and I don't regret choosing Trupanion over the other choices.

cataract surgery

My dog Riley had cataract surgery and I was amazed at how fast Trupanion processed the claim and sent me my reimbursement, it wasn't eve two weeks since the surgery. Great job!!

Don' look any further

I did the research for you. They are the best, excellent customer serice, excellent reimbursement for illess and injury. Very, very fat reimbursement, 7-10 days max. They love pets!

Coverage

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries.
