Glad We Went with Trupanion

I debated insurance for our male mini poodle, knowing that vet bills can be as much as MD bills. My husband was against the idea, so I did it on my own -- and am glad I did, as our puppy just had a bout of gastroenteritis -- and Trupanion payment on the vet bill more than offset the insurance costs to date. I'd researched several companies before going with Trupanion. It's not the least expensive of the carriers, but I'm very satisfied with my choice because of the coverage they will provide. In this first claim, I was pleased with their fast, efficient response, and with their customer service representative.

Amazing!

Trupanion truly made the experience of my puppy breaking his leg much, much easier. The customer service was amazing and incredibly helpful. The approval came within one day and the check came a week after the procedure. It was a huge relief to know that that was there for me. The stress of your puppy hurting himself is difficult enough, but knowing the cost was was covered helped tremendously. Especially after the stress of the hurricane and everything we went through with that. Trupanion is amazing and I will recommend them to everyone I know with a pet.

Monthly cost varies due to multiple factors including: species, breed, age at enrollment, gender, and postal code.

Coverage

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries.
