Midnight trip to emergency for toxic symptoms had

Late Saturday evening, Tucker displayed odd symptoms such as wobbling of his head and his back legs kept collapsing. We watched him for about half an hour and then decided he was getting worse, not better. Off we went to an Emergency Animal Hospital, about 40 minutes from home, hoping for the best. The admitting vet examined him and questioned us as to possible toxins he might have been exposed to. The vet then decided that Tucker needed to be kept overnight until at least early afternoon on Sunday.He was placed on intravenous in both front legs for hours.We were allowed to take him home on Sunday afternoon and the vet felt he was going to be okay as they had flushed his system out. Tucker slept almost 6 hours after he got home , ate dinner and went back to bed for the night. Monday morning, Tucker was his usual bouncy and happy self. He has been fine ever since. We check our lawn and pick any mushrooms found daily and we watch that Tucker does not pick up any cigarette butts he might find on the street, as those were the two items the vet felt he might have swallowed.I submitted my claim to Trupanion about a week after out emergency vet experience and was very pleased that they responded so quickly upon receipt of my claim.I received payment within 2 weeks and was most pleased with Trupanions response.

my girl xena tore her patella and needed surgery and I have to say I am pleased with trupanion they are very courteous and paid claims promptly also answered questions I had wonderful expierence and xena is happy and well thank you trupanion

Pet Insurance that works!!

WE lost our beloved Appy after 3 emergency visits,2 in hospital stays, Our bills exceeded 11,000. Trupanion handled all quickly, with detailed explanations of every bill processed. Each bill thanked us for taking such good care of Appy. The payments with those bills and a prior surgery was almost 10,000. Being in the insurance industry for 30 years, I never recommended any pet insurance prior to this one. In addition, I got a sympathy card , and refund on the unused premium. I can't speak more hightly of the efficient staff and the program, and have recommended to others who have purchased this program. Thank you Trupanion for helping us through a very sad time.

Coverage

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries.
