Horrible mistake of a company

This company takes a long time to process claims then do all they can to not pay them. Our pet was cryptorchid (testicles did not drop). The vet said they had to go in and remove them or it could cause cancer. It was a complicated surgery but they found them and my dog is fine now. Trupanion refused the claim saying it was just spay/neuter and they don't cover that. The fact that it cost much more than spay/neuter due to the complicated surgery didn't matter to them. They also turned down a claim to an emergency vet for an injured foot because it was an 'exam'. It would be hard for them to determine what was injured without the exam. I then tried to cancel and they won't even do that. They say someone will have to call me back but , you guessed it, they have not called back. Save your money and avoid this company at all cost!

Great plan

I am so happy to have purchased a health plan for my puppy Sookie. You never expect an emergency but when it happens you will pay anything to get your baby taken care of. I had acclaim that cost nearly $2000.00 and thanks to Trupanion I got a good portion of that back. I am so happy that Trupanion really does take care of your pets.

I am so glad my Vet recommended Trupanion!

My Vet recommended Trupanion to me when I decided to get Pet insurance. Our cat is like family and we will do what is needed and reasonable to keep him healthy.Trupanion has been very helpful and professional from the time I signed up to the time of submission and processing of claims. Amazing!

My boy cat Sam started looking terrible a few years ago. We had him insured along with my other cat. We took him to the vet and after some expensive tests and an afternoon stay, we found out he was a diabetic cat! I sent in the claims to my insurance and was amazed at not only how quickly they responded with reimbursement but also notes saying thank you for taking good care of him and asking how he was, and most importantly, the coverage was better than my own health care!! Since that 1st claim I have had to make many more for syringes and insulin and the system for claims in upgraded from checks in the mail to direct deposit. It's great. I know when my kitties get sick, I won't have to have that extra worry of how to pay for it. It will be covered and covered immediately.

AWESOME!!

My pup ended up getting parvo and she was so sick. Our vet bill including the emergency hospital we took her to came out a little over $2000. But our vet worked with Trupanion and we were able to get it resolved in a timely manner. Trupanion kept us abreast with e-mails and calls as to the status of claim. They were great! Trupanion paid our vet directly and we just paid the remaining balance which came to a little over 35 bucks. This is great! My pup is herself again and we are SUPER HAPPY with Trupanion. I am recommending this insurance to all my pet loving friends and family. They are there 24/7 and truly helpful.

Coverage

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries.
