I thought the service was excellent and I received my claim cheque quickly and I was informed all the way about when then cheque would be issued. However I was very dissappointed that certain things were not covered like the exam and then there was a $100 deductable. I was not informed that every time I use the insurance the I will have to pay the $100. I'm considering cancelling and just putting money aside each month maybe the same amount I'm paying for the insurance that covers very little. I guess that is what insurance is all about.

I'm very happy
I've been been trupanion for a little over a year now and although i have not needed the insurance I've only submitted 2 claims of which one was declined how ever the other one wasn't. The experience was quick and favorable trupanion processed my claims quickly and efficiently and followed up with me on my pets health status. i must say that my almost two year premium almost paid off on my one claim and boy was I happy to know that it was cover it saved me a big expense at a time that I was needing the most help. Thank you trupanion for coming thru to me and my babay

Horrible Services
Trupanion found any reason not to file my claim. I will be cancelling immediately as it was a waste of money.

Monthly cost varies due to multiple factors including: species, breed, age at enrollment, gender, and postal code.
Coverage
One simple plan covers new injuries and illnesses, hereditary, congenital, and chronic conditions—once the deductible is met, Trupanion pays 90% of the remaining invoice.

Payout Limits
Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.
Deductible
You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget.
Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.
Age Limits
All pets under 14 years old can enroll.
Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.
Waiting Period
Accidents: 5 days
Illnesses: 30 days
Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.
Exclusions
Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries. That means we don’t cover “predictable” care costs that you can plan ahead for, like:
Examination fees
Wellness and preventive care
Elective, or cosmetic procedures
Sales tax, where applicable
