Responsive/Excellent customer service

I hesitated to purchase pet insurance, but after talking with the caring representative from Trupanion I bought it for both of my puppies. I am certainly glad I did. I had a large claim within 4 months. They handled the claim so efficiently and expediently. I am sure having a vet that knows what insurance companies need helps them as well. I had another incident which Trupanion responded to so quickly. Seriously, I wish most of the companies I work with that handle paper work-billing were half as responsive, efficient, and concerned about providing customer service as Sarah and the others at Trupanion are.. I have been so impressed by their knowledge and compassion. Usually you tell 1 person when you are happy about service and tell at least 13 when dissatisfied. I want everyone to know and experience this type of caring service. I am grateful to the Vet student that cares for my "kids" for recommending this company to me. Wow! Just nice people to talk to that listen and care about animals.....

Speedy reimbursementHigh monthly premium Low reimbursement, as the "deductible" applies to each new condition. Perfect for high vet bills (surgery, etc), but not good for minor conditions

Great

Trupanion was great to work with. I do believe it helped to receive pre-approval before surgery. After surgery, there were no problems or questions from Trupanion. It really helped having the insurance for us to make the decision on which surgery we wanted for our Bella.

There is no other pet insurance company that does.

My 1.5 year old foster Pit Bull needed a surgery to freeze and remove the eyelashes growing on the inside of her eyelid. And an ophthalmologist had to do it. Trupanion came through (as expected) and was very speedy with their handling of getting the procedure pre - approved (which guaranteed reimbursement) and processing the claim with payment. They're very transparent, and I like that they offer only one simple plan that covers 90% of accidents and illnesses.

Coverage

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries.
