Exactly As Advertised

I'm very skeptical of insurance companies because of the potential for "fine print" exclusions but Trupanion has completely won us over with their clear and simple policy. This also being our first dog I didn't know what to expect but I'm extremely happy with our decision to go with Trupanion. They've been very helpful whenever we called. You can tell their agents are pet owners and care for the well being of your pet. Our complex and expensive claim was handled within 2 weeks and our annual rate increased only a few dollars. The rates are based off of all the claims for your specific breed in your area but I'd wager our claim was amongst the highest this year so going up a few dollars wasn't unexpected and we feel was reasonable. The fact that they cover 90% of any unexpected procedure (less the deductible and office visit) truly helps us sleep better at night and that's worth a lot more than the monthly premium to us.

Trupanion truely wonderful

We have Trupanion for about 2 years and recently our dog had to go through a surgery. Trupanion claim processing is simple and quick and they processed all the claims on time. Trupanion has exceeded all our expectations, and we are so glad that we bought it. We highly recommend!

Best of the bunch

A few of my friends have other insurers for their dogs, and all have said Trupanion covers so much more and seems easier and better to deal with in general.

Fantastic

Trupanion was there every step of the way for us and our dog. They made submission simple and reimbursement came in a timely matter. I would highly reccomend Trupanion to anyone.

Monthly cost varies due to multiple factors including: species, breed, age at enrollment, gender, and postal code.

Coverage

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries.
