Trupanion pets lead longer happier lives.1 Pets insured with Trupanion lived longer than pets without Trupanion because pet parents didn’t have to worry about the cost of the care their pet needed. Depending on the plan Trupanion covers up to 90% of eligible expenses, has unlimited payouts-always, and can pay your vet bill, within seconds, at time of checkout, so all you pay is your portion (anything not covered by Trupanion). THESE GUYS ARE SUPER!!

I CANNOT SAY ENOUGH ABOUT HOW COOPERATIVE AND HELPFUL TRUPANION HAS BEEN TO US OVER THE PAST 3 MONTHS CONCERNING THE $15,000+ THAT WE HAVE SUBMITTED TO THEM FOR OUR MEDICAL EXPENSES WE HAVE ACCUMULATED TREATING OUR SCHNAUZER. I HAVE NO COMPLAINTS. I USED TO HAVE VPI BUT THEIR COVERAGE AND COSTS MADE US LOOK ELSEWHERE....SURE GLAD WE DID.

Excellent

I did not know how to file a claim. I called and actually talked to a person! I received accurate information which was given to me in a simple step by step procedure in what was needed in order to process the claim. Secondly, it was explained to me how the claim process is handled. I received an email letting me know that the claim was in process. Our claim was settled within 30 days.

BEST CHOICE YOUR MONEY CAN BUY!

I did tons of research before purchasing insurance 5 years ago. I have 7 animals insured though Trupanion...6 dogs and 1 cat. I have needed to file 3 claims in the last 5 years. Customer service is impeccable AND caring. Claims are processed incredibly quickly. Follow up is superior. I can't recommend this company enough. I tell everyone I encounter with pets about them. You won't be disappointed :)

Save your money

I've had Trupanion insurance for 5 years. They've denied ever claim we've made, and even told us that we weren't doing our part to ensure the health of our dog. We finally submitted a dental bill for 1900.00 and were told that we weren't providing adequate preventative dental care at home. We brush our dog's teeth every day and often 2 times a day. Our vet said that given our home care regimen, it was genetic. When I told this to the woman on the phone her response was "I just work here." I said "of course you do, that's why I'm contacting you." We cancelled this week, and I would strongly encourage others considering Trupanion to think otherwise.

Awesome service

Have two Dobe's and have had a couple of claims for each- Always a quick turnaround after submission and always a full explanation of the claims payments and denials

Monthly cost varies due to multiple factors including: species, breed, age at enrollment, gender, and postal code.

Coverage

One simple plan covers new injuries and illnesses, hereditary, congenital, and chronic conditions—once the deductible is met, Trupanion pays 90% of the remaining invoice. To view a full list of inclusions and exclusions, check out our sample policy here.

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries. That means we don’t cover “predictable” care costs that you can plan ahead for, like: Examination fees Wellness and preventive care Elective, or cosmetic procedures Sales tax, where applicable Like all pet insurance providers, Trupanion does not cover pre-existing conditions.
