Amazing

Insurance companies are notorious for bad service and denying claims. Not TRUPANION. My litter terroir has been through hell with a recurring ACL tear. A miserable recovery and expensive surgery. I have been absolutely vigilant on his post op care. Trupanion has been so compassionate, so thorough and so incredibly quick on their responses. This company has removed so much stress from my plate. I can focus on my wonderful friend. If you have a pet, do yourself a favour.

great at claims

very thorough and get back to you about claims right away. However, I am still waiting to hear back about an email I wrote to them- not so good at answering emails as letting you know the status of your claim.

Smooth & correct payment

Last summer, our 1y old cat was diagnosed with FIP (or rather, at that time, suspicion of FIP). She recovered of some of her initial symptoms, thanks to the excellent care of our vets (AMC NYC), where at some point she even appeared to in excellent condition again... Yet the past few weeks her condition declined so badly that eventually she was no longer able to walk and stopped eating. Finally, we had to make the difficult decision to opt for euthanasia. But thanks to the excellent service and hassle-free paybacks of Trupanion, we are confident we have been able to explore all possible options. Because of our Trupanion insurance, we could focus on giving our pet the best possible treatment, without having to worry too much about the financial implications. We are truly grateful for how smoothly Trupanion handled our claims, amounting to a few USD 1000s in total.

Outstanding Insurer

Everyone told us pet insurance was a waste of money. After a few years of vet's bills, however, we decided that the peace of mind was worth a few dollars each month to avoid the possibility of an excruciating decision down the road. Trupanion was one of several companies we considered. We have been completely satisfied with them; I only wish our other insurance companies were so responsive, service oriented, and reasonable. Our beagle is now almost 7 years old and was diagnosed with Cushing's disease about a year ago. Trupanion didn't blink; they have met all the responsibilities they committed to meet quickly and accurately. And they haven't jacked up our premiums to the hilt as a result of regular claims. A first-rate company. We couldn't be more pleased.

Trupanion is fantastic!

Trupanion is great. The representatives I spoke to were sensitive and professional. It was my first time filing a claim and I was impressed with the speed my claim was processed.

Monthly cost varies due to multiple factors including: species, breed, age at enrollment, gender, and postal code.

Coverage

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries.
