Trupanion pets lead longer happier lives.1 Pets insured with Trupanion lived longer than pets without Trupanion because pet parents didn’t have to worry about the cost of the care their pet needed. Depending on the plan Trupanion covers up to 90% of eligible expenses, has unlimited payouts-always, and can pay your vet bill, within seconds, at time of checkout, so all you pay is your portion (anything not covered by Trupanion). very satisfied customer
I can only say that it has been the best decision I have made once i got my first puppy. I almost let it go by. Trupanion has helped my puppy get what he needs medical speaking and has saved my wallet. Claims have been fast and explanations clear of what was covered and not. Let me just say theres been more than one claim submitted and all a success the representative even calmed me down not to worry about what my puppy was going thru the first time i used it.Thank you for helping my puppy.

Amazing to deal with and would recommend to anyone
Trupanion is amazing and way easier to deal with then my insurance on my life. My dog became ill and within a week over $7500 dollars of vet expenses racked up. When it came to the last procedure I was not able to afford the $5300 surgery upfront so trupanion rushed the claim process and pre approved the surgery and covered the 90% upfront so that I did not have to worry about it. This all happened in a matter of a couple hours. This gave my dog Maya the best chance to survive but unfortunately we had to put down Maya at a young age of just over 1 year old as her liver completely failed.

A+ Pet insurance
Having no pet insurance and experiencing unexpected illness we learned our lesson and bought a Trupanion policy for our next dog. Thank goodness we kept it going over the years because eventually our dog got sick and required expensive radiological work ups, hospitalizations and multiple surgeries. Trupanion paid as promised. They continued to insure our pet despite the continued Huge bills, the staff was so helpful and we didn't have to chose between debt and care for our dog.

Monthly cost varies due to multiple factors including: species, breed, age at enrollment, gender, and postal code.
Coverage
One simple plan covers new injuries and illnesses, hereditary, congenital, and chronic conditions—once the deductible is met, Trupanion pays 90% of the remaining invoice.

Payout Limits
Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.
Deductible
You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget.
Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.
Age Limits
All pets under 14 years old can enroll.
Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.
Waiting Period
Accidents: 5 days
Illnesses: 30 days
Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.
Exclusions
Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries. That means we don’t cover “predictable” care costs that you can plan ahead for, like:
Examination fees
Wellness and preventive care
Elective, or cosmetic procedures
Sales tax, where applicable
