Peace of mind

My 15 year old border collie Moja fell ill with lymphoma and it was great to know I could afford to give her the best treatment possible in her last couple of months. As the bills piled up, I submitted them to Trupanion. It really helped ease the stress of everything when the claims were handled so well and I got checks in the mail so quickly. It really just gave me 1 less thing to worry about so I could focus on my Moja.

Excellent Service

We have been with Trupanion for almost 7 years and could not be more happy with the service. We have had a few major issues with our pup Kona over the years from disc problems, to elbow surgeries, which are quite costly. We are so pleased that the claims are always processed quickly and a cheque is always sent to us within 10 days. Thank you, thank you.

I am so happy to have found Trupanion

My family is so lucky to have found Trupanion. Our beautiful Chesapeake puppy tore out two knees at just under 18 months of age. We were faced with a very expensive surgery and prolonged recovery or not being able to sustain her life. Thanks to Trupanion we all worked hard and she is a happy and active dog again. The surgery cost greater than $6000 dollars and we never would have been able to do it if it had not been for Trupanion. Now our kitten age 3 wound up in the hospital for bladder obstruction twice within one month. I was shocked. Thank goodness Trupanion responded quickly to all of those claims and our little friend is doing well again !

Coverage

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries. That means we don’t cover “predictable” care costs that you can plan ahead for, like: Examination fees Wellness and preventive care Elective, or cosmetic procedures Sales tax, where applicable Like all pet insurance providers, Trupanion does not cover pre-existing conditions.
