TRUPANION IS A LIFESAVER!
Trupanion has allowed me to care for my elderly cats in a way that I, otherwise, would not be able. Two of them have chronic conditions that required extensive testing to diagnose and the treatment is ongoing. Trupanion is the only reason I could afford to proceed with the testing and keep up with the ongoing care. I recommend Trupanion to everyone I speak to that has a pet. I honestly don't know what I'd do without it... I can't imagine telling the vet that I couldn't move forward with something that would help my pet because I couldn't afford it. Thankfully, because of Trupanion, I will never have to say that!! Thank you for helping me give my pets the care they deserve!

Stress free handling of emergency surgery claim
My dog suddenly became ill and it took multiple vet visits to diagnose the problem. He ended up needing hospitalization and surgery once testing identified the problem (a very large lypoma that became necrotic). The animal hospital was able to get a quote approved immediately and arrange for Trupanion to pay directly to them. Trupanion properly processed the different vet visits all associated with the illness and resulting surgery, ensuring I was only paying one deductible. They took care of it and claiming was so easy (done either online by myself or via the vet). My dog is back to being himself and all full energy again. Thanks so much to those who helped make sure I had one less thing to worry about!

Monthly cost varies due to multiple factors including: species, breed, age at enrollment, gender, and postal code.
Coverage
One simple plan covers new injuries and illnesses, hereditary, congenital, and chronic conditions—once the deductible is met, Trupanion pays 90% of the remaining invoice.

Payout Limits
Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.
Deductible
You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget.
Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.
Age Limits
All pets under 14 years old can enroll.
Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.
Waiting Period
Accidents: 5 days
Illnesses: 30 days
Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.
Exclusions
Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries. That means we don’t cover “predictable” care costs that you can plan ahead for, like:
Examination fees
Wellness and preventive care
Elective, or cosmetic procedures
Sales tax, where applicable
