Buyer beware

I've been a Trupanion member for 1 year now and was notified that the rate for my Domestic Grey Tabby Cat (a rescue) will go up even though I have no claims for the year. I have a perfectly healthy cat being fed the best food available on the market! After contacting Trupanion I understand that a) they slyly got rid of my old plan and put me on a new plan with so called "additional benefits" and b) these additional benefits include a rate increase to subsidize care for animals in my area with eg. "breeding related conditions." How misleading and completely discouraging for those of us rescuing animals from shelters (and for the animals that desperately need homes) and what a reward for people who continue adopt pure bread animals. Buyer beware!

Trupanion has been Wonderful!

I never dreamed my dog could/would get toxoplasmosis. Getting to the final diagnosis was a long and costly experience and I am so grateful we chose Trupanion to help us. Their coverage was a comforting help to us and every time I have called with questions I have chatted with someone who seems like a dog-loving friend who just knows a lot about Trupanion insurance. They have been great!

Efficient and Precise

The claim review process was addressed in a reasonable amount of time. Once Trupanion got the info they needed from the Vet, the payment showed up in time for the monthly credit card bill. Its nice to know you can help your fur-baby if there is an unexpected emergency.

Phoenomenal - Life saver !

we are so impressed with Trupanion, and the level of customer service. I was impressed before, but this last experience has just been phenomenal! When you have all 3 of your 4 legged fur babies are requiring emergency care, worrying about the coverage should not have to be at the top of the list. We were shocked when Trupanion phoned and left a message on our phone telling us what they were pre-approving on all 3 of our babies. What a relief, especially when their lives are the most important thing on your minds. We sure were glad that we did not require all of the medical attention that was pre-approved. I have recommended Trupanion for some time now, and will continue to do so. I volunteer with an Animal rescue group, and I highly suggest that people look into your coverage when they are adopting. Trupanion is absolutely an amazing company.

I am so thankful that I selected Trupanion to be there for my dog daughter LAMBCHOP. I looked at other companies but liked what I was reading about Trupanion. never in a million years did I ever think I would have to use it, but LAMBCHOP developed cancer and I can't say it enough thanks to Trupanion we can give her the care she needs so she can play and be with us for hopefully another year. Thank you so much, I am not ready to lose my girl. I would highly recommend Trupanion and have done so already.

Monthly cost varies due to multiple factors including: species, breed, age at enrollment, gender, and postal code.

Coverage

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries.
