Great customer experience

I used my insurance for the first time after having it for three years and was not sure how it would go, given I've never had pet insurance previously. My dog had surgery for removal of a cyst on her jaw bone and two teeth that were loose because of degradation of the bone. I am happy to report that not only was Trupanion efficient and fair, but they were exceptional at keeping me informed of the progress of the claim. I wish that my own health insurance company was so transparent.

The name Trupanion says it all

I have been with Trupanion for at least 7 years. Any time my kitties have had an illness or issue, Trupanion has responded immediately.

Great communication!

It's nice to work with a company that truly keeps you up-to-date on what is happening. I even receive emails when my claim has been received and the investigative process has started. Claims are reviewed quickly and the entire procedure is resolved expediently. This is very much appreciated, especially when my dog's health is of primary concern.

Every pet owner shoud have Trupanion!!

After my very stressful experience with my kitten having gotten a piece of thread wrapped around her tongue and attached in her small intestine which resulted in intestinal surgery to remove it, my experience with Trupanion was EXCELLENT. This was my first claim for my 8 month old kitten so when I submitted it I also sent all the history for "Punkin" that I had since I rescued her at 4 months old. This included all her vaccine, when she was spayed, shot records and blood work results. Trupanion looked at everything I sent and deducted what they could from my deductible and paid my claim in two days.

ABOVE AND BEYOND

Trupanion was prompt in processing our claim and paying the vet clinic. They kept me informed and updated at all times,quickly replied to my emails, and paid the vet clinic directly as requested. They followed up with a thoughtful card after having lost our cat to cancer. So far, Trupanion has been very reliable pet insurance company.

Coverage

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries.
