First Time w/Pet Insurance and Highly Recommend

Was not so sure about getting pet insurance for our Tonkinese kitten, but so glad we did. I never want to be faced with making a financial decision over his health. Having the coverage lets me sleep well at night and removes some of the worry. My kitty is just about 3 and developed a kidney stone. I called immediately and spoke with Carmen who put all my worries and fears aside. Filing the claim was unexpectedly easy and quick. When I lost my job last year I considered ending the policy, but glad I didn't. Everyone I have ever spoken with or emailed at Trupanion has been outstanding. I am so glad my vet recommended it.

timely and hassle free

Trupanion has been very timely on processing claims and completely hassle free. My 10 year old boxer was diagnosed with lymphoma. The chemotherapy treatment is expensive and without trupanion's insurance the financial pressure would have been quite high. I am glad to have insurance for both my dogs and recommend trupanion to anyone considering pet health insurance.

My sweet dog wouldn't be here without Trupanion.

Following the advise of our vet, we signed up for Trupanion the day we rescued our German shepherd puppy Elvis. Shortly after, he was diagnosed with hip dysplasia . Due to our great coverage, we were able to offer him with the state of the art injections for hip dysplasia, which greatly improved his pain. About a year later, Elvis was diagnosed with epilepsy, which has become refractory to many medications and very difficult to control. Just his work up for his cluster seizures was thousands. Now his seizures are well controlled, but only with 4 daily epilepsy medications that cost over $300 per month. I thank Trupanion every month for taking the stress of financial strain out of the decision making for us while trying to give Elvis the best quality of life possible. I simply email them my monthly receipts and within 5 days I am reimbursed directly into my checking account. I will never have another dog in my family without Trupanion!

Claim Experience

I was not really lucky as a dog owner, once I start the insurance for my puppy. He got a broken leg, and around a year later he's got problem with his penis. I should say thank you for my vet introduced Trupanion for me, both claims were fast and every time I called them they're so helpful. Trupanion hotline was so fast, I can say within 2 mins there will be a rep pick up the line and no matter what time is it.

Love this company!!!

This company is fantastic. My vet has an app so all the bills are sent directly to the company so I don't have to scan and send them. Could not be easier!

Coverage

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries.
