Every pet owner should have Trupanion. They are amazing!

Trupanion made giving our baby girl Kya the best care easy and stress free. We had our claims paid directly to the specialists hospital within the time we were waiting there. They pre-approved her condition and paid for 90% of everything minus exam fees and taxes- which is amazing! We will continue to use Trupanion and will never own a pet without a policy. Highly recommended!!!

If I could rate them higher than 10, I would.

I was devastated when my Essie was diagnosed with cancer. His lymphoma required treatment to start immediately - the oncologist was recommending chemo and radiation, and it was going to be expensive. I immediately agreed and the clinic sent the treatment proposal to Trupanion and the approval had come through from them for all of it before the oncologist had even finished explaining it to me. Over the next year of treatment, every claim was paid promptly and correctly. There were no surprises - everything was paid out as I thought - there’s no crappy insurance wording in the policy to trick you, and no arguing to get your claim paid. Not having to worry about how to pay for the treatment took a burden off and allowed me to just enjoy the time we had left and I will forever appreciate that. I signed my new dog up with Trupanion the day I brought him home and I recommend them to everyone I know with a pet. I think they are by far the best pet insurance on the market!

Fantastic!

We have been with Trupanion for 12 years now. They have always been easy to make claims with and provide exceptional customer service. They are the best and I recommend them to everyone I know with pets. My 3 cats have undoubtedly lived longer and healthier lives because of Trupanion.

Monthly Cost

Monthly cost varies due to multiple factors including: species, breed, age at enrollment, gender, and postal code.

Coverage

One simple plan covers new injuries and illnesses, hereditary, congenital, and chronic conditions—once the deductible is met, Trupanion pays 90% of the remaining invoice. To view a full list of inclusions and exclusions, check out our sample policy here.

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries.
