They are the best ever, no hidden surprises emotionally or financially.
Trupanion came through exactly like they said they would. My dog had almost $7,000 worth of medical care. She had a tumor on her lung (cancerous) had surgery removed 2 lobes of her lung, stayed 1 extra night at the hospital and my cost out of pocket was less than $1000.00, Trupanion paid their 90% and the best part is they do a pre- approval whereas many people don't have a few thousand or so hanging around,Trupanion directly pays the Dr. & hospital. So I did not have this worry, how was I going to pay for it. Without the pre-approval we could not of been able to afford this and for this I'm forever grateful. P.S. Inky is doing absolutely great and it's like it never happened.

Excellent customer service!
I was very impressed at the ease and simple process for filing a claim and I received a cheque within one week! The customer service reps couldn't have been more helpful and were a pleasure to deal with! Overall one of the best customer service experiences I have had in a long time!

Trupanion makes a sick dog better
After my dog had a couple of unrelated abdominal surgeries within a few months, I decided I should probably get insurance for him. Within 3 months, he was under the knife again. And then we were sent to specialists where he underwent a CT scan. Trupanion has reimbursed me over $3000 and they are helping to find a solution to my dog's stomach problems (ulcers).

No Hassle Claims
I have had Trupanion for both of my pups for nearly 12 years and I have had quite a few claims and never has there been any problem being covered. It allows me to make the best health care decisions possible for Dexter and Daisy who deserve nothing but the best. Thank you, Trupanion!!

Monthly cost varies due to multiple factors including: species, breed, age at enrollment, gender, and postal code.
Coverage
One simple plan covers new injuries and illnesses, hereditary, congenital, and chronic conditions—once the deductible is met, Trupanion pays 90% of the remaining invoice.

Payout Limits
Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.
Deductible
You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget.
Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.
Age Limits
All pets under 14 years old can enroll.
Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.
Waiting Period
Accidents: 5 days
Illnesses: 30 days
Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.
Exclusions
Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries. That means we don’t cover “predictable” care costs that you can plan ahead for, like:
Examination fees
Wellness and preventive care
Elective, or cosmetic procedures
Sales tax, where applicable
