Fast, Friendly and efficient! 100% would recommend

Trupanion is a great company to deal with, they were honest and kept us updated on what was going on with the claims. We have submitted two claims directly through our vet and both claims were approved and refunded within a week or so of the procedures. Overall, I would gladly recommend them to any pet owner who is thinking about getting insurance.

Great experience especially having only had my policy for about 6 weeks and a claim of over $3,000 they paid it no problem and within days of submission.

Process could not have been easier, We could not be happier

Our senior cat, Ben, developed hyperactive thyroid, which is a curable but fatal disease if not treated. He needed iodine radiation treatment, which is an elective procedure -- since there is a cheaper alternative -- giving Ben a pill every day for the rest of his life. That ain't happening! The cost of the iodine radiation procedure was over $2,000 and means we don't have to pill him every day. We feared that Trupanion would only pay the cost of the cheaper treatment option. Instead, Trupanion paid their portion of the whole bill immediately, and the vet did all the paperwork regarding the claim. We basically had to do nothing -- we just got our reimbursement check in the mail less than one week after the claim was made. We are definitely satisfied customers, and Ben is cured Thank you, Trupanion, for the speed and integrity of our claims process.

They are the best ever, no hidden surprises emotionally or financially.

Trupanion came through exactly like they said they would. My dog had almost $7,000 worth of medical care. She had a tumor on her lung (cancerous) had surgery removed 2 lobes of her lung, stayed 1 extra night at the hospital and my cost out of pocket was less than $1000.00, Trupanion paid their 90% and the best part is they do a pre- approval whereas many people don't have a few thousand or so hanging around,Trupanion directly pays the Dr. & hospital. So I did not have this worry, how was I going to pay for it. Without the pre-approval we could not of been able to afford this and for this I'm forever grateful. P.S. Inky is doing absolutely great and it's like it never happened.

Coverage

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries.
