Great experience with Trupanion

We are so grateful for the help and support Trupanion as provided us. Max has never had any medical issues needing an insurance claim up until November of last year, and then all of a sudden it has been constant vet visits for one thing or another, without Trupanion we might not have been able to provide Max with the proper care he needed. With Trupanion our stress and anxiety was basically diminished, we knew our Vets could direct bill them and we wouldn't have to worry about large up front costs. They make the process so easy and even reaching out to them for customer support has been so simple, barely a wait time for the online chat. I cannot recommend Trupanion enough. The peace of mind they provide is worth more than I can express.

Trupanion

On June 6th my adopted rescue, Luca, was diagnosed with a transitional carcinoma in her right nostril. For reasons involving expediency and the type of radiation therapy available, I chose to take her to PetCure Oncology in Pittsburgh instead of seeking treatment in Canada. The care we received was extraordinary and Trupanion was beside us the entire time. Everything they said they would cover under the terms of our policy was covered. The claims process was simple to navigate, and the funds were deposited into my bank account before I even left Pittsburgh. Versatility in terms of being able to adjust my deductible higher to reduce monthly premiums was one of the things that drew me to Trupanion in the first place. This experience told me that I made the right choice for a lot of other reasons. Stress levels can be elevated when your best friend is not well; I'm glad we had a Tru friend along for the ride.

Trupanion truly is a business that cares

I find Trupanion very fair and genuinely caring. I particularly appreciate that they have actual human beings working the phones. Chatbots don't cut it when you need information on coverage and you are rattled by your pet's vulnerability. Rates increase each year, but you can always opt to increase your deductible and create a savings account to cover the difference.

Certainly Didn't Take the Sting out of an Unfortunate Situation

Our girl, unfortunately, got into a porcupine today (Saturday). We were able to find an emergency vet open about an hour away. We thought great it's only going to cost us the deductible, though still enough. When all was said and done, we thought Trupanion would be covering approximately $350 worth of the total - nope $96.93, barely the cost of a month's worth of insurance. We will be contacting Trupanion on Monday to confirm the expenses and their coverage.

I have been with Trupanion for 7 yrs…

I have been with Trupanion for 7 yrs now. I have 3 cats Austin, Milo and Jersey. I love them to death. Trupanion has looked after all my visits to the vet. I don’t know what I would have done without them. Please if you’re planning on getting a pet, get the insurance right away. The babies may not have any issues when they are young but as they get older there is always something. Trust me JUST GET THE INSURANCE. It is a piece of mind … love TRUPANION!!!!

Coverage

Payout Limits

Unlimited lifetime payouts on eligible conditions with no payout limits-ever.

Deductible

You can choose your deductible from $0 – $1000, in $5 increments, to fit your budget. Trupanion offers a lifetime, per condition deductible meaning that once the deductible is met for an eligible condition, you never have to meet it again. That condition is covered for life. This is great for chronic conditions that can span the entirety of a pet’s life such as allergies or cancer.

Age Limits

All pets under 14 years old can enroll. Once enrolled, pets stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

Accidents: 5 days Illnesses: 30 days Other providers may have additional waiting periods for congenital conditions like hip dysplasia, Trupanion does not.

Exclusions

Trupanion was developed to protect you and your pet from unexpected illnesses and injuries.
