You won't be able to cancel
I have been trying to cancel this policy for 3 months. They don't let you do it online. They don't reply to emails. When you call, a bot asks you some "identifying questions". Then you wait on the phone for hours and no one picks up.
I cannot imagine how it must be dealing with them if you have an emergency.
And even if you have no emergency, I don't think it's worth paying for months after you moved out, just go with another provider.
I like that you can do everything online, from the quote to purchasing the policy. There is a possibility to speak with an agent, who was very helpful in explaining the differences between various items, so I could refine my quote (and make it cheaper, which was nice). Sonnet offers more options to reduce coverage for things that you do not really need, or add more coverage for matters you need more of, all while re-evaluating the quote as you change options. You can then save the quote and reflect on it for a while and speak with an agent for questions. Since the purchase is online, there is no pressure to purchase immediately, another plus.
Horrible horrible experiences with sonnet for the years I have been with the company. I went with them for the lower rates turns out you get what you pay for. My insurance went up every single renewal with no other explanation than “the premiums have gone up in your province” never had an accident never had any tickets so pristine driving record, make that make sense. Horrible experience with the customer service team when I was given a cancellation notice for a mistake they made (taking the payment out of the wrong account) spent 2 days trying to have it rectified with inconsistent information every time. Was told they have no supervisors to make a complaint to but workers stated several times they needed to speak with their supervisors regarding provided information. Made the payment and was confirmed all was good the policy would be reinstated and to call back the next day to confirm the payment was received. I called the next day to have them turn around and say no it will not we need a new letter from the bank that it was attempted to be taken out of. I had been to the bank 4 times the day prior to get the letter which always ended up not being good enough for them, why wasn’t that stated that day? Make you jump through a million hoops for their mistake to get no results. I will be leaving sonnet for a new policy would never recommend them ever. Keep your hard earned money and go with a company that actually knows what they’re doing. Very unhappy customer.
