Quick processing & reimbursement

I submitted my claim electronically (including invoice, medical records, test results) and the claim was very quickly processed. I also received the reimbursement electronically, having linked my checking account to my policy.

This insurance company is a total scam

I've been using this insurance company for 7 years on two different pets. My dog came down with a very rare and fatal disease. She was in the hospital for a month and racked up a bill more than $40,000. I felt confident because I had insurance and I would be protected at least 50%. But this company does not spend more than $5,000 annually. It's a total waste. For the amount you pay you do not get much of a value unless your dog or cat has recurring extremely minor issues which is statistically extremely rare. When I was trying to file claims they kept telling me the claims were illegible and then I would get an agent on the phone after hours and hours of trying who would say that the reports I sent were extremely legible. I would download the PDF directly from the website and upload it to their portal and they would claim it was smudged even though it was never printed or had any opportunity to get smudged. Over and all, this is an absolutely terrible company and no one should even slightly consider using them under any circumstance. There are plenty of good alternatives.

I only had this insurance for couple of…

I only had this insurance for couple of months and I m thinking of canceling it! The amount charged every month seems low enough to convince one to become a member easily but if instead of paying it, I start to save the same amount each month, at the end of the year I’ll have saved even more and have the cash available for wellness appointments and any kind of emergency without having to deal with poor customer services and waiting their very slow processing time!

Pay and keep paying…

This insurance only covers for accidents or injuries… and the reimbursement structure is way off the cost of a reputable veterinarian.

Listen to reviews and AVOID! Especially Bulldog Owners!

Listen to the reviews and AVOID. If you have a Bulldog, FULLY AVOID. PetsBest will systematically deny as many claims as possible. The company might appear attractive with slightly lower monthly costs than a few of the competitors, but I can assure you, you WILL NOT SAVE any money with PetsBest. Pay special attention to the 14 day waiting period as if you have to go in for anything in that period, they will deny every claim you submit for the lifetime of the policy. Look into Embrace or Lemonade, MUCH BETTER, ethical, and fair alternatives.

Monthly Cost

$6 and up, depending on your chosen plan.

Coverage

Accident and Illness plans with optional reimbursement levels of 70%, 80%, or 90% after the deductible. Flat Rate Accident coverage for $9/month for dogs and $6/month for cats. (Available in most states). Two optional Wellness plans to cover routine care. 24/7 Pet Helpline, powered by whiskerDocs is included on all policies. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill. Reimbursements are sent directly to CareCredit credit card when chosen as your default reimbursement method. Choose to have your eligible claim payment reimbursed directly back to your CareCredit card.

Payout Limits

$5000 -Unlimited annual limit, depending on your chosen plan. Unlimited lifetime limits.

Deductible

$50 – $1,000 annually.

Age Limits

Pet must be at least 7 weeks old to enroll. Pets Best does not restrict coverage or availability for older pets.

Waiting Period

A waiting period refers to the amount of time after enrolling before your pet is eligible for coverage. Waiting periods vary by the type of coverage and start on the effective date of your policy. Once met, waiting periods are waived for continuous, uninterrupted policy renewals. Pets Best offers some of the shortest waiting periods in the industry following the policy effective date. Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Elective and preventive procedures are not covered.
