First time pet insurance user

Pets Best truly is great in handling claims and customer service. I've never used pet insurance in 30 years of owning pets and I'm totally glad I do now.

Denying claims for no good reason.

I got my big dog coverage in August 2022, hoping to be proactive to big dog issues. On November 1, he was diagnosed with Addison's disease, after a bout of sickness that lasted about 2 weeks. I was denied all coverage because one of the symptoms was diarrhea, which he had a couple previous times in his life. (One during food change, another due to an allergy.) After almost a month over the 90 days they had to respond to my appeal, they denied me again. So now I've paid them 4 extra months of payments and I am not getting coverage. This is the WORST experience all around that I have ever had. Customer service is impossible. No one answers you. DO NOT GET PETSBEST. You're better off starting your animal a savings account because this company just takes your money and runs. ***I did appeal. It took 110+ days. As you kept charging me monthly. And since my dog had an allergy also, it’s NOT the same thing. His sensitive belly from food changes & allergies are NOT the same as his chronic condition.

Don't Look Any Further For The Best Pet Insurance

Pets Best is the best of the best. I have heard of horror stories on life threatening services being denied with other insurance companies and I have never had an issue with Pets Best. I submit my receipt online and within a week or two I am reimbursed. They are super affordable and overall a great company to work with. I am so thankful to them and all that they do to keep my fur baby covered.

It's easy to file a claim

It's easy to file a claim. I receive an automated "receipt of claim" e-mail and my claim is reviewed within the next several days. There have only been one or two times when I was asked for additional information. To date, I've been pleased with the process and reimbursement has been timely.

Monthly Cost

$6 and up, depending on your chosen plan.

Coverage

Accident and Illness plans with optional reimbursement levels of 70%, 80%, or 90% after the deductible. Flat Rate Accident coverage for $9/month for dogs and $6/month for cats. (Available in most states). Two optional Wellness plans to cover routine care. 24/7 Pet Helpline, powered by whiskerDocs is included on all policies. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill. Reimbursements are sent directly to CareCredit credit card when chosen as your default reimbursement method. Choose to have your eligible claim payment reimbursed directly back to your CareCredit card.

Payout Limits

$5000 -Unlimited annual limit, depending on your chosen plan. Unlimited lifetime limits.

Deductible

$50 – $1,000 annually.

Age Limits

Pet must be at least 7 weeks old to enroll. Pets Best does not restrict coverage or availability for older pets.

Waiting Period

A waiting period refers to the amount of time after enrolling before your pet is eligible for coverage. Waiting periods vary by the type of coverage and start on the effective date of your policy. Once met, waiting periods are waived for continuous, uninterrupted policy renewals. Pets Best offers some of the shortest waiting periods in the industry following the policy effective date. Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Elective and preventive procedures are not covered.
