Don't get a policy if you have a shelter dog
I purchased the pet insurance amidst immediately after adopting my dog. I submitted a claim for allergies which the vet was ruling out either good or environmental cause. After almost 2 months the claim was denied as being preexisting. I had given very notes, contact information for the shelter (who reported the dog had no issue while with them) and the name of the vet who saw the dog prior to being surrendered. Pets best states in their policy that they can deny claims even if there isn't documentation of there being a preexisting condition.

The one and only claim since my dog…
The one and only claim since my dog died was denied. First because they believe her death from heart attack was previous cond. It was not. Then her name is Lucy and LULU as her nickname with exact birthdate and breed and weight disqualified her as a different animal. I called and they require a vet to correct this!
then because she was dead it took 7 times to cancel the policy. How tacky are these people I gave up on the claim and am contesting my credit card.

Crappy Policies....Look for other Insurance
I am disgusted that this is the company I chose to protect my pet and with it's awful policies. I want to upgrade coverage but they won't let me unless I re-write the policy. Yet, if I re-write the policy they consider all conditions that were covered on the old policy, even with a new policy starting right after the old one ---- pre-existing. I used to rave to my friends about and refer everyone to PetsBest, but will no longer. Nor will I be adding my two other pets to this plan.

Accident and Illness plans with optional reimbursement levels of 70%, 80%, or 90% after the deductible.
Flat Rate Accident coverage for $9/month for dogs and $6/month for cats. (Available in most states).

The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill.
Reimbursements are sent directly to CareCredit credit card when chosen as your default reimbursement method.

Payout Limits
$5000 -Unlimited annual limit, depending on your chosen plan.
Unlimited lifetime limits.
Deductible
$50 – $1,000 annually.
Age Limits
Pet must be at least 7 weeks old to enroll.
Pets Best does not restrict coverage or availability for older pets.
Waiting Period
A waiting period refers to the amount of time after enrolling before your pet is eligible for coverage. Waiting periods vary by the type of coverage and start on the effective date of your policy. Once met, waiting periods are waived for continuous, uninterrupted policy renewals. Pets Best offers some of the shortest waiting periods in the industry following the policy effective date. Get a quote for specific information on waiting periods in your state.

Pre-existing conditions are not covered.
Elective and preventive procedures are not covered.
