I tried to get a pre-estimate from Pets…

I tried to get a pre-estimate rom Pets Best prior to what would be done SO I WOULD KNOW in Pets Best would pay on any line times indicated and they stated it could not be done. This would have been a major indicating factor if I could afford to done at this time. WHICH I CAN NOT AND SHOULD NOT HAVE PROCEEDED, DUE TO MY MEDICAL ISSUES AND BEING ON MEDICARE (CONVERTED AFTER I WAS DEEMED TOTALLY DISABLED). So, I got doubled whopped as I had to use a Care Credit Card and the card from the vet, so I now 2 EXTRA PAYMENTS coming out of my medicare check, now 2 places will NOT GET PAID each month causing me more hardship. Pets Best only approved less than 195.00 on the charge or my pet that had a total bill over 1300.00. The insurance has constantly gone up and seldom paid any submitted claims, and continually kept asking for more documentation to support claims.

Should be zero stars

Should be zero stars. I informed them that I would not renew in 2024 due to large rate increase. My account was on auto-pay, always paid and up to date. When they received my notice of non renewal, they withdrew $1,527.06 from my checking account for no reason. Now I cannot get them to return my money. Horrible experience. Pets Best should be your very last choice for pet insurance. Horrible. 01/02/24: April no phone calls. I cannot trust the word of Pets Best. I am still communicating with Pets Best staff but I do not expect an amicable conclusion based on the actions of Pest Best to this point. You have all the documents, you know the story.

Easy and painless claims processing

I filed my first claim a few days ago and the process was super simple - just took a picture of the itemized receipt from the vet and uploaded it to the app. A few days later, I had the email that it was processed and approved. Granted, it was a simple exam/rabies vaccine visit, and not something more complicated, but it was easy and painless. You can't ask for more than that.

Don’t bother. Just save the monthly cost and pay out of pocket.

I would be better off just putting $55 every month in a separate account just in case I need it for my pet. I have found the accident/illness and separate wellness coverage to be utterly useless.

Not impressed by the timeline of events

I utilize the app and uploaded the after care notes, vet records and payment details within the same day and I am STILL waiting for my reimbursement after a month. Called twice to get a status update and even though the customer service was friendly, they only kept to the script without giving further details. My Vet was readily available to call the insurance company on behalf of us to try to help but customer service still said that it was their processing team that was behind schedule. I’m not impressed by the timeline and the additional funds they removed from the total amount I should receive back.

Monthly Cost

$6 and up, depending on your chosen plan.

Coverage

Accident and Illness plans with optional reimbursement levels of 70%, 80%, or 90% after the deductible. Flat Rate Accident coverage for $9/month for dogs and $6/month for cats. (Available in most states). Two optional Wellness plans to cover routine care. 24/7 Pet Helpline, powered by whiskerDocs is included on all policies. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill. Reimbursements are sent directly to CareCredit credit card when chosen as your default reimbursement method. Choose to have your eligible claim payment reimbursed directly back to your CareCredit card.

Payout Limits

$5000 -Unlimited annual limit, depending on your chosen plan. Unlimited lifetime limits.

Deductible

$50 – $1,000 annually.

Age Limits

Pet must be at least 7 weeks old to enroll. Pets Best does not restrict coverage or availability for older pets.

Waiting Period

A waiting period refers to the amount of time after enrolling before your pet is eligible for coverage. Waiting periods vary by the type of coverage and start on the effective date of your policy. Once met, waiting periods are waived for continuous, uninterrupted policy renewals. Pets Best offers some of the shortest waiting periods in the industry following the policy effective date. Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Elective and preventive procedures are not covered.
