As an insurance agent

As an insurance agent, I feel morally obligated to urge anyone reading this to NOT purchase from Pets Best. I have had MUCH better luck with Figo (and I can't even sell policies for Figo since my company is contracted with Pets Best). In my personal opinion, this company has got to be the WORST pet insurance company on the planet. After my claim was denied, I reviewed my policy and the "What's not covered? See a FULL list here". No where was it mentioned that this was an exclusion (infection post de-claw). They blew my concerns off on the phone and I subsequently filed a small claims case. Their lawyer argued that Pets Best is not an insurance company, but rather a third party that sells for other insurance companies. Their customer service is completely useless as well. Again, please DO NOT purchase from them.

So Happy I Joined Pets Best!

I joined Pets Best at the end of November. I am so happy I did! They are great at explaining and communicating with you. I submited claims and 6 days later I had email responses and explanations for why a service was or was not covered. Insurance can be very confusing, but Pets Best makes it so simple. It is comforting to know that I do not have to worry about my dog's health and being able to cover expensive claims.

Claims Payment - Processing

I am so thankful to Pets Best Insurance. Your processing of claims is easy and fast. You pay attention to the details. I'm getting another puppy in 9 days and will be adding her.

Monthly Cost

$6 and up, depending on your chosen plan.

Coverage

Accident and Illness plans with optional reimbursement levels of 70%, 80%, or 90% after the deductible. Flat Rate Accident coverage for $9/month for dogs and $6/month for cats. (Available in most states). Two optional Wellness plans to cover routine care. 24/7 Pet Helpline, powered by whiskerDocs is included on all policies. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill. Reimbursements are sent directly to CareCredit credit card when chosen as your default reimbursement method. Choose to have your eligible claim payment reimbursed directly back to your CareCredit card.

Payout Limits

$5000 -Unlimited annual limit, depending on your chosen plan. Unlimited lifetime limits.

Deductible

$50 – $1,000 annually.

Age Limits

Pet must be at least 7 weeks old to enroll. Pets Best does not restrict coverage or availability for older pets.

Waiting Period

A waiting period refers to the amount of time after enrolling before your pet is eligible for coverage. Waiting periods vary by the type of coverage and start on the effective date of your policy. Once met, waiting periods are waived for continuous, uninterrupted policy renewals. Pets Best offers some of the shortest waiting periods in the industry following the policy effective date. Get a quote for specific information on waiting periods in your state.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Elective and preventive procedures are not covered.
