Short of Expectations

Claim took about a month to be processed and not all services were even covered. So far not a sensible insurance for my dog.

Company isn’t as good anymore

I have had my dog Abbie covered by Pets best since she was about 6 months old and she is now 4years old. The problem I have is when you send in a claim lately it takes over 30 days to process my claim. I sent in a claim for nexguard and heart guard in the beginning of February and have still haven’t heard if I will get any money back. This company isn’t as good as it use to be and I am not satisfied as a customer. This is ridiculous it takes this long to here about your claim. Unhappy Stacy Rose

Priceless

My cat is about 17 years old (a rescue, so not sure) and we have had Pets Best for about 14 years. They have seen us through UTI’s, an abscessed paw, diabetes, pancreatitis, seizures and many other ailments - and they have been a lifesaver! I wouldn’t have been able to afford to keep my sweet baby alive and happy for this long without their help. Claims are paid quickly and I have never had a dispute with their resolution. Best decision any pet owner can do is to insure their pet with Pets Best.

Baffled and Unhappy

I am an insurance agent. Basically I have filed claims and they were denied. Knowing that my puppy would eventually have to have his dew claws removed, I elected to have it done when he was under for his neutering. It was denied. The thought that they say it’s elective is a horrible feeling. I would never put my animal through something cosmetic. It was medically necessary and denied. The fact that you would want me to wait for something to happen is cruel. Unhappy to say the least!!! Lori Wilson

It was 5 stars in the beginning-quick returns and good explanations within 2 weeks. Now it has slowed significantly and takes more than a month for info back and is slow in responding to requests for reconsideration of claims.

Monthly Cost

$6 and up, depending on your chosen plan.

Coverage

Accident and Illness plans with optional reimbursement levels of 70%, 80%, or 90% after the deductible. Flat Rate Accident coverage for $9/month for dogs and $6/month for cats. (Available in most states). Two optional Wellness plans to cover routine care. 24/7 Pet Helpline, powered by whiskerDocs is included on all policies. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill. Reimbursements are sent directly to CareCredit credit card when chosen as your default reimbursement method. Choose to have your eligible claim payment reimbursed directly back to your CareCredit card.

Payout Limits

$5000 -Unlimited annual limit, depending on your chosen plan. Unlimited lifetime limits.

Deductible

$50 – $1,000 annually.

Age Limits

Pet must be at least 7 weeks old to enroll. Pets Best does not restrict coverage or availability for older pets.

Waiting Period

A waiting period refers to the amount of time after enrolling before your pet is eligible for coverage. Waiting periods vary by the type of coverage and start on the effective date of your policy. Once met, waiting periods are waived for continuous, uninterrupted policy renewals. Pets Best offers some of the shortest waiting periods in the industry following the policy effective date. Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Elective and preventive procedures are not covered.
