Poor Customer Service

Extremely disappointed in how difficult it is to get any updates on a claim. I submitted three claims within two weeks of each other and waited over a month before any of them were processed. I tried calling and web chatting Pets Best on numerous occasions and could not get in touch with a single live person (after sitting on hold for 30+ mins).

I submitted my last claim and it took a full month to receive reimbursement. No excuse for slow processing. Hire more people or offer discounts for such slow service. I’m pretty sure I’d be dropped if my premium was a month late. A week to 10 days should be maximum turn around on straightforward claims. I’d switch companies in a heartbeat if my dog didn’t have what most companies would now consider a preexisting condition. He’s a doodle and has had several ear infections. It’s common to the breed and no other company will cover him for that now.

They do a great job communicating…

They do a great job communicating and good price. The one thing I’d change is how long it takes to process a claim. It can take quite awhile.

Take quite a long time to get reimbursement

Take quite a long time to get reimbursement. Resending 3 times same invoices. Customer service asked same questions to get invoices and receipts. Pet invoices and receipts aren’t complicated like human … 2 months later i got reimbursement…. Great pet insurance but need more improvements…. We have 3 dogs …. 2 dogs with other pet insurance but they currently not taking new clients at the moment …. Pet best is 2nd best from that…. Hopefully pet best get more improvements….. we know we would have more pets and sure we add to pet best insurance. Thank you for being here for my 4 legged children

Monthly Cost

$6 and up, depending on your chosen plan.

Coverage

Accident and Illness plans with optional reimbursement levels of 70%, 80%, or 90% after the deductible. Flat Rate Accident coverage for $9/month for dogs and $6/month for cats. (Available in most states). Two optional Wellness plans to cover routine care. 24/7 Pet Helpline, powered by whiskerDocs is included on all policies. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill. Reimbursements are sent directly to CareCredit credit card when chosen as your default reimbursement method. Choose to have your eligible claim payment reimbursed directly back to your CareCredit card.

Payout Limits

$5000 -Unlimited annual limit, depending on your chosen plan. Unlimited lifetime limits.

Deductible

$50 – $1,000 annually.

Age Limits

Pet must be at least 7 weeks old to enroll. Pets Best does not restrict coverage or availability for older pets.

Waiting Period

A waiting period refers to the amount of time after enrolling before your pet is eligible for coverage. Waiting periods vary by the type of coverage and start on the effective date of your policy. Once met, waiting periods are waived for continuous, uninterrupted policy renewals. Pets Best offers some of the shortest waiting periods in the industry following the policy effective date. Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Elective and preventive procedures are not covered.
