Pets Best | Pet Insurance Review

My golden retriever had a trauma accident at a very young age. I only had the insurance a few months but they covered it with no questions. I am very satisfied with their response. They kept me informed during the process.

I am definitely happy with the ability to cover my pet with insurance but the claim process needs improvement. It took so long for my claim to be processed that I actually forgot I was still waiting on this. However, it was a pleasant surprise to get an email on a Friday morning that I have some money going into my bank account.

Great experience, except the claim review and approval process takes too long!!

Reimbursement is a literal joke. Seems like premiums have gone through the roof but what they cover has significantly decreased. But it’s insurance. Their job is to make as much money as possible, nothing else.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Pets Best. I have never had pet insurance before- but after our two old pets passed away I knew I wanted to look into coverage. One had needed a monthly prescription and the other needed prescription food- both were incredibly costly. When we adopted a lab puppy, I decided accidents alone with that breed would be a given. I'm a researcher and I researched all my options for a week or two- you know- the spreadsheet type. I finally settled on Pets Best for several reasons: 1. When I called I was able to always promptly reach a person who was able to answer all of my questions. 2. As a former sales person, I can spot when someone is "selling" me from a mile away. Unlike some of the other consultants with other companies, I did not get that sense from my representative. If anything, they were able to help me weigh the pros and cons of their plan compared to the others I was considering. 3. The cost and coverage seemed the best balanced. Within a few months of adopting our dog, we adopted a cat. The dog ended up getting Lyme disease and the cat ended up developing a behavior disorder. Within just a few months of taking out our polices, we had already made our premiums back and then some. And we got a pro-rated discount when we added a second pet! I cannot tell you what a relief it was when our dog got super sick, and the vet had to run a bunch of tests and then started talking about expensive treatment plans, just how nice it was to be solely focused on our dog, and not at all focused on the numbers. That in and of itself was such a gift. We didn't have to make any tough choices or consider "wait and see"- we were able to just do what he needed to have done. If I had one complaint it would be that it can take a few months for the claims to be processed- but in the end, that's not a big deal. They may be a slow pay, but they pay. Filing a claim is super easy, there is always a human to speak with if needed, and their website and app are so easy and comprehensive that you rarely even need to speak with someone. I will never again not have pet Insurance and I am very pleased with Pets Best. They stand by what they say - no hoops to jump through, no hidden loopholes or "catches" to deny coverage. Just a straightforward and easy process. If you are looking for affordable yet comprehensive coverage that you can count on, Pets Best is the way to go!
