Nationwide provides very quick claims processing; would ask to reconsider policy on over the counter covered items
Nationwide has been very quick to respond to claim submissions; reimbursements are usually deposited directly into the bank account within 48 hours, and there have been no denials with one exception - - over the counter flea and tick preventatives are covered under the plan, but can not be purchased for reimbursement at a retailer, because Nationwide indicates it can't validate that the medication is for the animal covered under the policy. They asked for an invoice from the vet with the pet's name on it. Strikes me as a little silly - - if you'd like to restrict this type of routine preventative medication, don't pay for it more than 2x/year (six month supplies). Buying at a retailer (especially online) is much more convenient than calling the vet, having a prescription filled, and stopping in to pick it up.
Other than that, Nationwide has been very easy to work with and I still recommend.
