Nationwide | Pet Insurance Review

Claims are paid timely. Am pleased to say with Eppe’s recent cruciate ligament tear and treatment from the vet it looks like he will not require surgery at this time!

I've been happy with Nationwide since I started my first policy for my dog Moxie in 2007, later adding on 2 cats and my dog Juno as I adopted them. We had to let Moxie go at the end of 2018, but having insurance allowed us to have an extra year with her as it helped a lot with the cost of very expensive cancer treatments. She had a great last year and peaceful passing and we all needed that. My cat Hedwig was very sick and not doing well on thyroid meds, but is now thriving again after surgery. Juno has had a few minor infections and injuries, including the most recent claim for an infected cyst. I was reimbursed for nearly the entire amount this time--usually I get at least half the cost of a visit back, depending on the policy, pet, and issue. This claim was also very fast: It was direct deposited to me in about 10 days. Insurance isn't cheap, but so worth it for the peace of mind.

I'm not impressed with the insurance product we've purchased. I didn't listen to naysayers that said nearly everything would be excluded and I'm learning the hard way. We're currently shopping for an alternative; if that doesn't get us what we're wanting, we will bank the premiums we're paying now to offset future expense.
