Great insurance at a reasonable price

I’ve had this insurance for six years with various dogs. Never a problem with the claims easy to file reasonably priced. I would never be without pet insurance again.

Nationwide

I have had Nationwide Ins since 2017 when I adopted my little girl. She has had many claims. They are prompt, helpful and so easy to deal with. It has been a great experience.

Terrible company with terrible customer service and communication

No communication. Underwriting team sits on medical records longer than 30 days and sends no communication to give you updates. Multiple calls to try to get things resolved. This company seems to have no regard for their clients and their pets. There are plenty of other better pet insurance companies out there. If your employer offers this one, Id suggest you petition that they switch to another carrier as Nationwide appears to drag their feet on paying claims because they don't seem to hire enough employees to process them.

Nationwide is the only exotic pet…

Nationwide is the only exotic pet insurance in the US and I am grateful for them. It allows me to offer all available treatment to my pet rabbit Rose for her arthritis and give me peace of mind for my rabbit Koa.

Monthly Cost

Policies start at approximately $12 per month.

Coverage

Nationwide offers a variety of plans offering varying levels of coverage. The company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness, offers 90% reimbursement for accident, injury, illness and wellness care, inclusive of exam fees. All Nationwide members have complimentary 24/7 access to vethelpline.

Payout Limits

Depending on the plan selected, there may be annual benefit limits or per incident benefit allowances. There is no annual limit for the company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness.

Deductible

Annual deductibles range from $0 to $1,000. Most popular annual deductible for Whole Pet with Wellness is $250.

Age Limits

No age restriction to enroll in company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness. Other plans may have age restrictions.

Waiting Period

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered on any plans (if a condition is curable, it may be eligible for review if pet remains treatment-free for at least six months). Whole Pet with Wellness covers nearly all veterinary expenses. Notable exclusions include boarding and grooming.
