First claim and it’s going slow
I adopted a new dog in September of 2021. He was up to date on all his shots so I didn’t have to take him to the vet until June of 2022. The vet did some tests which resulted in him needing an ultrasound. I submitted the claim and it was denied since they needed additional medical history. All I have is his adoption paperwork along with the vet checkup that was done at the shelter. I sent that information and all I got was an automated email saying they received my email. Looking online the the claim still shows as closed. It doesn’t reflect that I sent in the additional paperwork that I had. I called Nationwide and was told that they did receive the paperwork and it’s being reviewed and could be 30-60 days before there is a decision. It would be nice if there was at least a note on the claim stating that it is being reviewed. As of now I have no idea what is going on. Depending on how this claim goes I may just cancel my policy and go with Trupanion again. I had them with my 2 previous dogs and they were quick and efficient. Hoping this doesn’t turn out to be a bad experience.
