I have had your ins since you were VPI…

I have had your ins since you were VPI -MANY YEARS & 3 dogs. I didn't know you covered prescriptions. Madyson is on a lot of Rxs - knees, cataracts, glaucoma, I collected, photocopied all her scrips for the past year - over $650 worth & submitted. I copied everything, the slips from the pharmacy, the bills from the vets, 11 pages worth, wrote a cover letter explaining ALL & specified/broke down everything to the penny. They paid on only the final Rx. Seriously? Didn't they even look at the other 10 pages? INCOMPETENCE! I'm supposed to do a separate form for EACH Rx? What a waste of my time/paper and yours! Further, when I call I can hear kids in the background, babies crying, kids playing. You're farming out to home-workers, right? Is this professional? Does anyone have a clue what the other side is doing? She's supposed to call me back within 3 days - do I hold my breath?

Helpful, friendly customer service reps

I spoke with Coral in Customer Service. She answered my questions and was very helpful. Hopefully the claim reimbursement process is equally efficient. Thank you Coral at Nationwide!

Great employees make this a pleasant company to do business with

Nationwide has great employees and the employees that you speak to really seem to care. As far as that is concerned, they earn 5 stars. What knocks them down a notch is the silliness in decision making. When I bought the policy, I obliged their request to list any and all vets and it was either me or the previous vets who submitted all of my dogs office visits. I brought her for various things, but she has no specific ailments. One time, I brought her to the vet for an upset stomach after eating something off the street. Nationwide called her upset tummy a pre existing condition. I had to wait several months and submit a review request to have that restriction removed from the policy. Recently a claim was denied because something was prescribed on a follow up visit that was not related to the initial visit. There is room for improvement. Other than that, no complaints.
