Difficult to work with

It's challenging to work with Nationwide pet insurance. I only have insurance with them because it's the only pet insurance through my work. It takes way too long for them to process a claim and if you have any questions, their customer service isn't helpful.

Nationwide is a first rate operation who cares about its customers and are very trustworthy.

Nationwide is reliable and pays claims in a timely fashion. They are straightforward and fair in their decisions and do not give folks the runaround as do some insurance companies.

The employees working for Nationwide are very friendly , kind, and knowledgeable.

I would recommend this pet insurance to others. The people are friendly, knowledgeable. and patient. They helped me with my claims and were sincere with their concern for my puppy.

I love the attention to detail and the fast response.

I am so thankful that I took out this insurance policy. Sparky has had a couple of bumps in the road, but I think he is on the right path to better health. I submit my claims via facsimile and almost immediately receive an email confirmation that my claim is being processed. My reimbursement is always timely. I thank you for excellent service. BTW - we have all of our autos; homeowners; umbrella through Nationwide. We also use you as the contact for our earthquake insurance. Thank you.

Coverage

Nationwide offers a variety of plans offering varying levels of coverage. The company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness, offers 90% reimbursement for accident, injury, illness and wellness care, inclusive of exam fees. All Nationwide members have complimentary 24/7 access to vethelpline.

Payout Limits

Depending on the plan selected, there may be annual benefit limits or per incident benefit allowances. There is no annual limit for the company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness.

Deductible

Annual deductibles range from $0 to $1,000. Most popular annual deductible for Whole Pet with Wellness is $250.

Age Limits

No age restriction to enroll in company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness. Other plans may have age restrictions.

Waiting Period

14-day waiting period after application approved and payment of premium is received.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered on any plans (if a condition is curable, it may be eligible for review if pet remains treatment-free for at least six months). Whole Pet with Wellness covers nearly all veterinary expenses. Notable exclusions include boarding and grooming.
