I have it for me, why not my Babies

I got my first pet ever in 1999 for my mother who became anorexic after a stroke. She wouldn't eat ever and lost over 50 lbs. so I came home with a kitty. My first pet at age 55. Had no experience with pets, vets, or anything. Completely ignorant. I saw an ad for Pet Insurance, did some research, and purchased the pet insurance with VPI for our Toby David. I have used VPI for Gabriella, Nannete, and now Tesa Maria, and Tommi Joseph. VPI is Wonderful, automatic, there via their website, auto payment, submit a claim, vet recognized everywhere and have received more and more publicity as more and more pet owners utilize pet insurance. We take care of ourselves, why not our pets. After my experience of gratitude to my babies, who kept my mother company and brought her back to life by eating and feeding them, they deserve nothing else but the best. VPI is my Insurance of Choice because I love my babies and love VPI. They send birthday cards, letters of sympathy. I love VPI

Stingy payouts

Over 10 years in the life of the dog, I paid over $5000 more in vet bills than I got reimbursed, plus the $7000 cost of the policy over 10 yrs. So, I lost $12,500 when my bills were only $8700! One $1100 visit to a heart specialist was reimbursed at only $460. One $2200 bill was reimbursed at $684. All these were legitimate veterinary expenses and I was shocked at how meager the reimbursement was. I won't recommend this company, and won't use it for other pets.

Unexpected Illness

I bought this policy thinking I would need it towards the end of life when the dog got older. My 1 1/2 year old dog simple wouldn't move and was whining in pain. I was terrified. After a lot of diagnostic procedures it was determined it had something to do with her joints. We were given medication but no real diagnosis. Luckily after a day or 2 the medication worked and she was back to normal and the bill was over $1400. VPI paid for most of it and I am grateful to have had the foresight to buy the insurance policy.

I love VPI

We bought a policy for a beautiful puppy, Bruiser, without really thinking we would ever need it. After 4 short months of owning bruiser, he had a terrible accident, for which he needed major invasive surgery. We had to pay over $2,500 out of pocket to cover his procedure. Not only did VPI pay for the surgery, they also covered a preventative procedure that we included to ensure that his stomach would never twist. We filed the claim and were paid the vast majority back within 2 weeks. VPI is awesome and I highly recommend them to everyone who loves their pet!

Great value if you love your dog.

When my first dog had to have eye surgery in 1995, the surgeon told me, "You're the kind of owner who would spend your life savings to help your dog...you should seriously consider getting pet insurance." It made sense, so after looking into it, I signed up with VPI. 20 years, 3 dogs, and 4 very expensive surgeries later, I couldn't be happier with my decision. The value and piece of mind is more than worth it.
