Slow processing time, too many claims denied

Don’t get me wrong, insuring my pet with Nationwide has paid for itself, but there are so many claims denied. If more information is needed, they take the wole 30 days to tell you that and the process starts all over again. My pet has had a lot of medical issues, but I don’t think about this insurance plan would benefit a normal, healthy pet.

Fast and Easy Claims Process

Nationwide Pet Insurance has been the best decision we have made in a long time. Nationwide Pet insurance takes the financial stress out of a day in the life of a dog owner. Unexpected things come up, and I stress a lot less now that I have pet insurance. We go to the vet, get our pup feeling better, and within a few weeks, our claims are processed and paid. It is a no-brainer. We plan to get a second dog and we will definitely get an insurance plan for the new dog as well.We could not be happier with this company.

Claims dept could be more clear on denials

I submitted a claim and it was denied twice and it was because the bill I submitted said Estimate and not Invoice. It was the emergency vet service that helped me to figure it out while I feel that Nationwide's underwrite could easily have put a note in my correspondence specifically pointing out the problem instead of just sending a denial. For first-time claim submittals, a little more explanation would have gone a long way. My reimbursement was delayed a good two months because of this back and forth.
