I am so thankful that I took this insurance out when I bought the puppy 4 years ago. She has had some bad health problems this year and we would of had to make some really tough decisions if we had not. We are getting over surgery and that is tough all by itself. Nationwide has been very easy to work with so far. I just file a claim and turn in my invoices and that's it. We can focus on caring for Sadie. I will recommend this insurance to anyone who gets a new pet and have recommended it to my family.

Fast Turnaround on Claims

We've been very happy with our insurance policy. We've had it one year and it's saved us over $150 for those little things that add up at the vet. We've only had one claim get "denied" and that was because the picture wasn't clear enough. I resubmitted it and it was approved right away. Everything is really easy with the app and claims get paid usually within a week.

Overall, this is a great insurance.

Other than the delay in payments and the annual increases, this is a wonderful insurance; one of the best I've found.

Coverage

Nationwide offers a variety of plans offering varying levels of coverage. The company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness, offers 90% reimbursement for accident, injury, illness and wellness care, inclusive of exam fees. All Nationwide members have complimentary 24/7 access to vethelpline.

Payout Limits

Depending on the plan selected, there may be annual benefit limits or per incident benefit allowances. There is no annual limit for the company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness.

Deductible

Annual deductibles range from $0 to $1,000. Most popular annual deductible for Whole Pet with Wellness is $250.

Age Limits

No age restriction to enroll in company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness. Other plans may have age restrictions.

Waiting Period

14-day waiting period after application approved and payment of premium is received.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered on any plans (if a condition is curable, it may be eligible for review if pet remains treatment-free for at least six months). Whole Pet with Wellness covers nearly all veterinary expenses. Notable exclusions include boarding and grooming.
