I’m very impressed. I got my refund within 30 days.

My Greta had to have emergency surgery to remove some rocks she had swallowed. I was refunded within 30 days the full amount (minus deductible of course). I am so grateful I had Nationwide Pet Insurance.

I will never have a pet without Nationwide again.

My claim was not paid as we had moved and there was an issue with a prescription for food. After providing Copy of prescription my claim was reprocessed and paid quickly. Subsequent claims have been paid.

Disappointed

We started with VPI when we got our dog almost 7 years ago. When we submitted this recent claim, we were appalled to see the minuscule amount Nationwide gave us back, in comparison to the 75-90% other companies like Trupanion, Embrace, and Healthy Paws awards owners who had pets who had similar spinal surgeries like our dog did . And we pay more as a monthly premium than they do! I am not sure if the policy terms changed during the takeover from VPI, which I know I never decreased her coverage since the day we started., but apparently the policy we have doesn’t cover hardly any of her services. I will be changing to a new insurance company, and will never recommend your company to anyone

Coverage

Nationwide offers a variety of plans offering varying levels of coverage. The company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness, offers 90% reimbursement for accident, injury, illness and wellness care, inclusive of exam fees. All Nationwide members have complimentary 24/7 access to vethelpline.

Payout Limits

Depending on the plan selected, there may be annual benefit limits or per incident benefit allowances. There is no annual limit for the company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness.

Deductible

Annual deductibles range from $0 to $1,000. Most popular annual deductible for Whole Pet with Wellness is $250.

Age Limits

No age restriction to enroll in company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness. Other plans may have age restrictions.

Waiting Period

14-day waiting period after application approved and payment of premium is received.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered on any plans (if a condition is curable, it may be eligible for review if pet remains treatment-free for at least six months). Whole Pet with Wellness covers nearly all veterinary expenses. Notable exclusions include boarding and grooming.
