Very happy with Nationwide Pet Ins. Recently had to put it for major surgery for Heidi, Nationwide really came through.

Very happy with Nationwide Pet Ins. Recently had to put in for major surgery Heidi. Nationwide really came through and help to offset major expense. Heidi is doing much better now, having to overcome a fracture, a complication after ligament and knee surgery.

Great coverage, slow return, ridiculous rate raising

I knew right away when I got a dog that I wanted to have this insurance. It has great coverage if you choose the highest package. However, the turn around times on refunds have slowed significantly, as well as the pricing for that package increasing to a ridiculous and unfair amount in too short of a time!

Good incurance.. BUT after 2 years they called to tell me my premium for next year would increase 67%/ Stunned to say the least

Almost feels like a bait and switch. I could understand...increase... like everything in the world. But 67% increase!!!! I will probably change plans as there are other good ones for less money. I just need to be covered for a MAJOR illness or injury

Coverage

Nationwide offers a variety of plans offering varying levels of coverage. The company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness, offers 90% reimbursement for accident, injury, illness and wellness care, inclusive of exam fees. All Nationwide members have complimentary 24/7 access to vethelpline.

Payout Limits

Depending on the plan selected, there may be annual benefit limits or per incident benefit allowances. There is no annual limit for the company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness.

Deductible

Annual deductibles range from $0 to $1,000. Most popular annual deductible for Whole Pet with Wellness is $250.

Age Limits

No age restriction to enroll in company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness. Other plans may have age restrictions.

Waiting Period

14-day waiting period after application approved and payment of premium is received.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered on any plans (if a condition is curable, it may be eligible for review if pet remains treatment-free for at least six months). Whole Pet with Wellness covers nearly all veterinary expenses. Notable exclusions include boarding and grooming.
