Nationwide has been awesome!

We took out Nationwide insurance on Tigger when we picked up one of your brochures at the vet’s office. We never thought Tigger would have a medical problem at his young age. He is doing well now.

Good coverage, takes forever to get reimbursed.

Nationwide gives great coverage and seems to have covered every visit to the vet thus far. The one downside is that it has taken months to get reimbursements. But the coverage has paid for itself at this point, so overall positive.

Disappointed!

We were disappointed that you did not cover ANY of our kitten Toby’s surgical treatment. He was a feral kitty, earmites and paradites that needed to be treated initially. However, we subsequently fiund out that he actually had a tumor in his inner ear that was causing him to have issues, and he needed surgery to remove it. Because he was treated for his earmites, you refused to pay for his tumor removal - claiming he had a pre-existing condition. The two conditions were not directly related, instead he happened to have 2 separate issues with his ears. I think your company was wrong to not cover Toby’s ear surgery and I will not recommended you to others. I am actively looking at switching companies/ policies for all 5 of our cats as I am really upset/disappointed in your coverage.

We highly recommend pet insurance!

Our Great Dane is 10.5 years old and we have had pet insurance on her since we got her at 8 weeks old. It has been some of the best money we have ever spent! Thankfully not in all of her 10 years, but in quite a few of them, the pet insurance reimbursements have pretty much covered the yearly premium! We have a 5 year old Dane that we also have covered with Nationwide pet insurance. I recommend to all of our friends that they carry insurance on their pets, especially larger breeds. Our experiences have all been very positive--submitting claims is easy, and reimbursements are usually received within a couple of weeks. Highly recommend Nationwide Pet Insurance!

Total Frauds

Worst pet insurance ever - a total fraud. We purchased VPI pet insurance for our Yorkie puppy when we first welcomed her into her home, understanding that pet insurance is very strict about pre-existing conditions. No major problems for years, but VPI did pretty well on minor issues and preventative medicine. Nationwide took over VPI and the premiums rose, the reimbursement fell, but we kept paying because they promised 90% coverage of accident or injury, which is why you really carry insurance. The worst- case scenario happened, a pit-bull mix attacked our dog and she needed surgery to repair a perforated abdominal category. Nationwide paid $1500 0n a $4000 bill ,and had the nerve to tell us that they had send us many mailings about getting us to switch to a different policy ($2,000+ per yer instead of $1,000+) that would actually cover what they promised. These people are beneath contempt. I would never buy Nationwide for ANY, ANY type of insurance.
