Thank god for pet insurance!!!

Considering I was contemplating less then one (1) week before this emergency happened to cancel my policy...I’m thrilled I didn’t!!! My beagle boy has better insurance then me! The whole process, customer service, claim, summiting of the claim and the turnaround time was exceptional.

Have been very pleased with the ease of submitting claims and thankful for the 90% reimbursement so that I don’t have to worry about my dog getting the best care.

I was disappointed to see the yearly cost go up over $300. this year which I thought was a really big price adjustment.

I have been very happy with Nationwide and their quick turnover with our claims for our Chloe who just turned 3 years old. I wasn't happy to see such a large increase in the cost of over $300 a year. I thought that was a little extreme.

Mixed Reviews for Nationwide Pet Insurance

Filing a claim is easy! However, the caps on common diagnoses (ear infection, kennel cough) mean that I am not reimbursed as much as I am spending. This is spelled out clearly in my policy... I will most likely be switching to Healthy Paws for my 6 year old pup because she keeps getting diagnosed with the same things each year.

Coverage

Nationwide offers a variety of plans offering varying levels of coverage. The company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness, offers 90% reimbursement for accident, injury, illness and wellness care, inclusive of exam fees. All Nationwide members have complimentary 24/7 access to vethelpline.

Payout Limits

Depending on the plan selected, there may be annual benefit limits or per incident benefit allowances. There is no annual limit for the company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness.

Deductible

Annual deductibles range from $0 to $1,000. Most popular annual deductible for Whole Pet with Wellness is $250.

Age Limits

No age restriction to enroll in company’s most popular plan, Whole Pet with Wellness. Other plans may have age restrictions.

Waiting Period

14-day waiting period after application approved and payment of premium is received.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered on any plans (if a condition is curable, it may be eligible for review if pet remains treatment-free for at least six months). Whole Pet with Wellness covers nearly all veterinary expenses. Notable exclusions include boarding and grooming.
